about us not playing the Brewers as hard as we could to end the season. Whenever we didn't put out the full effort I told my co-workers that we did ourselves a disservice by not beating the Brewers and allowing them into the play-offs. I was scared of the Dodgers and sure enough, it looks like my fear is going to be realized. I'm so tired of waiting on these guys to show up in the play-offs and I'm only 27.

By the way, I hope that Fukudome goes back to Japan.

We could be playing against the player's children and still be getting our a$$es handed to us.

After all these years, I've finally learned my lesson. I will never again get excited about another Cubs team.

This Cubs team would make Pedro Martinez think it was 1999.

Johan Santana would shut us out with no cartilage in his knees.

I thought it was weird they played hard against the Mets for awhile then went in the tank for the Crew. Maybe we're getting some bad karma from an angry Shea Stadium. Don't worry, once it's bulldozed the Curse of Shea will end.

You guys are all going to laugh at this in about a week when we are playing the Phillies.

lol i hope so..

Even if we aren't we are all going to be back here the next day getting ready for next year. It's what we do.

Looking at the bright side - it seems they have finally loosening up. Too bad it took 17 innings and 2 losses.

It was good to see them use the approach at the plate (9th inning "rally") that got them to the playoffs, instead of the "2006" method they used in those first 17 innings.

I could see them pulling a Boston and winning the next 3....

Believe me, Fuk's 0-8 has got me hopping mad.

But what about Soriano's 1-9 (a 1B)? Trying to out-do last year's 2-14 performance, I guess.

Wed. night's 1-5 hitters went a sparkling 2-21, or something very close.

I think the Cubs left the offense back in September.

I think the Cubs got the match up we all were looking for a month ago. I know I didn't want anything to do with Arizona's Big 3 (Webb, Haren, and Johnson) in a 5 game series, no matter how bad their overall offense and bullpen was. The Mets were playing decent baseball up until the last month when Wagner went down. Maybe it's Karma, I don't know. All I do know is the Cubs would be losing a 5 game series to the Royals, Pirates, or Padres with the way they are playing. I refuse to give LA this much credit. They are a decent enough team, but my god...

Just goes to show you what a crap shoot a best of 5 series is, and no matter how well a team did in the regular season, if another team gets hot at this time of year, anything can happen.

We walked 8 batters in game 1 and allow 4 unearned runs in Game 2. This isn't chance. This isn't one hot team outplaying a better team .... this is just one team playing bad, bad, bad baseball.

I know the majority of my family is suffering. Comments from my Mom and Sister this morning were, "The Cubs are breaking my heart." and "Don't get me started on the Cubs, they are making me sick to my stomach."

With the season they have had I cannot believe they have come out this flat in the first two games of the postseason.

We played hard against the Mets? Other than game 1 of that series, we couldn't have given 2 howrys.

Not that any of this has anything to do with the first 2 games of the NLDS.

I absolutely can. This is exactly what I feared....Soriano, Lee, and Ramirez coming out flat again. I don't see us winning this series unless two of those guys getting on fire.

What a shame to waste such a great regular season!
