I find it interesting, and telling, that even in light of the White Sox recent troubles there are virtually no threads about them on nsbb. Contrast this with the White Sox site where there are 16 Cubs related threads on the front page of this section alone:

http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=18

It's the "What's the Score?" section. Get it? We are so drunk and not paying attention to the game that we don't know what the score is .

This is not even counting the ever present whining about media attention....and all the rest that is literally all over the site over there.

I used to think that the whole White Sox envy for the Cubs was over blown....but after looking around over there I see that it is quite a real phenonema.

I learned something while reading through the site. The White Sox won a world series before the Cubs. It seems to be in almost every thread.

It's not like we made up the "inferiority complex" description of them out of thin air. It's amazing the level of irrational and idiotic ramblings over there. You don't see that type of dislike towards the Sox on any Cubs message boards.

Don't act like when the roles were reversed in 2005, there wasn't a bunch of White Sox threads on here.

But this goes on every day at that site.

That's a worn out middle of the lineup. Anderson or Owens get to that Mauer double last night as well as the Kubel triple in the first game.

Part of me is enjoying the karma of the blown call in game 2 b/c of what happened with AJ against the Rays.

I'm rooting for the Sox to make to make it though.

What's this now? A thread whining about White Sox fans? Yeah, that kind of thing never happens here. Except here.

No real whining going on here. I hope the Sox make it too. The point was the amount and the degree of it over there. And from the looks of it goes on all the time. Not just when the team just happened to win the World Series.

It's not a matter of "we are better than they are" either. I was surpised at the amount of time devoted to the Cubs over there.

Bryan Bullington-S-Indians Sep. 26 - 10:49 am et

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Bryan Bullington will start Sunday's season finale against the White Sox if Cliff Lee (neck) is unable to pitch.

Quite a dropoff, going from the likely Cy Young winner to a 27-year-old bust of a former No. 1 overall pick trying to salvage a career as a fifth starter or long reliever. The game may decide the AL Central winner, so the Twins will be rooting for Lee to pitch.

Looks like they may end up catching a huge break. We'll see if they capitilize.

Let me just say that message board posters are not an accurate cross section of the fanbase.

While this is very true, unfortunately they are not far off from the rest of the fanbase in Cubs hate. I went to abotu 20 games in 2005 and I Howry you not, there were more people wearing anti-Cubs t-shirts than sox jerseys. I never thought it was that widespread, but it really is.

It's what happens when you hop on the bandwagon of a fluke season.

Sox fans pay attention to the Cubs more than they do their own horrible team. I love watching them choke.

I don't actively root against them, but if the Sox miss the playoffs, all I have to say is, "It couldn't happen to a nicer team."

HA!!! There was most definitely no bandwagon hopping. I just happened to have a lady friend who just happened to have season tickets 7 rows behind the visitors dugout at the Cell. Since she obviously is a diehard Sox fan, I did my best to be cordial, but inside, I was rooting for whoever the Sox were playing. I wore my cubs hat to every game, worry not.

Huh?

What's the matter, you couldn't comprehend the sentence that preceded the one you quoted? Use the whole quote next time if you are trying to make a point.

Living on the south side, just a mile away from The Cell, I would say that board is a fair representation of the Sox fanbase.

Give credit where credit is due ... the Sox were dang good that year.

That's exactly it. I am a die-hard Cubs fan, have been all my life. I don't care one bit about the Sox, but they have a strange obsession about the Cubs. Odd.

I enjoy watching Sox games because I am a baseball fan. I do not root for them or against them... and whether they win or lose has no affect on me. However, I am actively rooting against them today.
