Fukudome is now 5 for his last 11.

What a lift he'd provide if he could hit like he did towards the beginning of the year.

Can you imagine how awesome it would be if April Fukudome came back for October?

Or April Lee.

I'll go with any April 2005 Lee, July 2007 Zambrano and then you guys can pick the other months for everybody else.

August 2003 Prior. :(

September 2004 Prior.

Remember his 9 innings 2 hit, 16 k baseball that we still lost?

I remember paying attention to that game on gamecast in the library and during classes. That game was so depressing.

But you can't beat his 0.69 ERA in 39 August 2003 innings.

That was my first bleacher game at Wrigley.

Geez, I check on my kid for a minute, and I come back to see not only did Marshall get through the heart of the order, he struck out Beltran and Delgado doing it.

I'd like to see him wait for the ball to get further into the hitting zone so he can use some more of his power... but if he can put up his April numbers hitting the ball out in front of the plate, I wont complain.

BTW, what the Mets are doing is an absolute choke. I've seen the same thing in September 2004 and October 2007 from my Cubs and September 2008 from the Brewers. They just look like they are pressing. I almost feel bad for them, but then I remember they are the Mets.

Now Marshall's second time through the heart of the lineup...

Unscathed.

Fantastic.

Fukudome's stride looks the same to me....but mine's not a trained eye by any means.

On a couple of those swings before he got the base hit to left, he looked like he was bailing just as usual. I think it was a foul ball...

Either way, good to see him get a couple hits.

His upper body is still bailing, but his foot isn't going as far up the first base line... at least that's what I'm seeing.

Let Dempster walk and put Marshall in the rotation for 09?

I'd rather trade Marquis for peanuts and let Samardzija and Marshall duke it out for a rotation spot in spring training.
