just make people register and post here. if they refuse to, then they don't have to be in the league. communicating through the RK site is fine too, i suppose, but Howry just sits there for weeks w/o response.

No one is going to trade for Howry, so I guess you're stuck with him.

I think it creates better relations between managers. Well, Abuck and I fight more now than we ever did, but I know he still loves me and I, well, uh, nevermind.

I'm confused. I was emailed by Justin asking if I'd be interested. He has access to post here and I know he reads the board. He's been asking for Howard for weeks. If I'm not going to be keeping Howard (I'd keep one of him or Morneau) then why the hell not trade him? I couldn't keep Kazmir either if I'm going to keep Halladay, which I'm going to do. He was the one who asked, as he has NO bats and NO pitching and had a 2nd first round pick. He stated to ME that he would rather have those two guys than anyone he could get with those picks in the first two rounds. Why the hell would I have to have a minor leaguer (my minors are full) when I can add 2 draft picks instead. People have traded draft picks all year, and nothing has ever been said. Mention: The PEAVY trade earlier this year with Fishbulb, when nobody else could even get him to talk to us, Juan sure was able to. That was the SAME sort of thing as Justin emailing me to ask if I'd be willing since he has nothing but exempt players on his team and had a TON of points room to where he could afford 2 draft picks for those guys. How the hell is that exploiting??????? He feels his team is better now than with using those 2 picks on people.

The peavy trade may have been the most exploiting a weak team trade all year.... Pot/Kettle!

What are you talking about? I never mentioned your trade. If the three of you want out, let me know.

My apologies... I took it as being directed toward me.

the peavy trade is not remotely close to this situation. come on. peavy was traded in like june. you're trading guys you can't/won't keep for draft picks. you're literally losing nothing.

I was referring to the fact that people like Brian mentioned not being able to get ahold of fishbulb earlier this year when the Peavy trade was made, but Juan was able to. I didn't think it was a bad trade, but was in on the fact that he got Peavy for a draft pick even though others said they couldn't get a hold of him to make their offers....even though I'm not quite sure what the other people offered him. That I can't speak to. They could have been terrible offers that didn't even garner a reply and I wouldn't know that.

On a different note, why is J.T. Snow being added to the player pool?
He actually signed a contract with the Giants a week or so ago. A one-day contract so he could retire as a Giant. That happens all the time in football, but I haven't heard of that very often in baseball.

Does anyone know what's up with Chris? If he doesn't have time to deal with his team, we might need a new owner for his team, too.
Chris hasn't posted since July 8 and hasn't been logged in at all since Aug. 25. This is the second time he's been away for an extended time within the past year. The previous time I believe it was due to family and/or work issues. I'm not sure about this time. I agree we need to know if he wants to stay in the league and, ir so, if he's committed to keeping up with it.

I already have to cut some good players to get under the cap (as most, if not all, of us need to). Therefore I've decided I'm not going to trade my #1 pick, because then I'd have to cut even more. I've done it the past few years, and it hasn't worked out very well for me, so this time I'm keeping it. With the lower point limit adopted a year ago it makes less sense to me to trade first-round picks during the offseason because there should be plenty of good players in the draft pool anyway. Trading it at midseason to help with a playoff push is altogether different in my mind. I haven't cut my non-keepers yet, so if anybody would be interested in a trade for one of my lower picks I'd listen (or possibly a player from my roster plus a lower pick for a better player).

I tried to drop Adam Lind so that my roster would be legal, but the site will not allow me to do so.

I thought we had until Valentine's day?????

I thought we had until Valentine's day?????
We do. Several people have been unable to drop players (see thread about rosters disappearing). Juan even mentioned the possibility of extending the deadline if the problems don't get resolved soon.

In lieu of that, just post your list here. I am able to drop players.

how is mccann exempt?
He shouldn't be. His exempt years were 2005, 2006, and 2007. He would have been minor league eligible after 2005 (since he had fewer than 250 plate appearances), but based on the new rule, since he had more than 50, 2005 would have burned an exemption.
