They've been very strict on his pitch counts all season at 90 or so and then they let him go 115 2 weeks before the playoffs? Especially after his recent discomfort...I don't get it.

 

Sorry for being behind..they haven't been quite that strict on his pitch counts though. This was his longest start with the team in number of pitches , but he also has had starts with the Cubs where he threw 112, 109, and 105. They've mostly been careful with him, but they've also let him get up there a couple of times. This 115 matched his season high that he threw in a start with Oakland earlier in the year.

 

Again..not agreeing with it, but it isn't that far out of line with some other starts he's had.
