A discussion on the other thread got me to thinking (which can someimes be dangerous). I'd be curious to see what the age breakdown is for those who want a new stadium vs those who want to stay at Wrigley. I'm not really looking for any arguments here. Just post "new stadium" or "Wrigley" with your age.

Me- Wrigley, 35

I would love to stay at Wrigley for as long as they can, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if they tore it down and got a new building. I would miss Wrigley but there's a whole lot about a new park that would be awesome, too.

Are you running for office by any chance?

Ha.

Just giving my opinion. It's not all that realistic to expect them to stay in a building from the 1910's for a whole lot longer (a whole lot meaning 10 years maybe? depends on if they totally gut and rebuild Wrigley or not, as has been discussed).

I used to be of the opinion that the Cubs would never win a World Series in Wrigley Field because there never seemed to be a clear-cut HFA.

After the season they have had this year (winning 51 at home so far with 6 left to play) I have had to re-think it.

It would be great, if the Cubs could either add seats and renovate Wrigley. Getting tix is so freaking hard for an out-of-towner like myself. It doesn't help that Wrigley sends many tix straight to StubHub for twice face value.

I'm going Wrigley for now... 32 - Indianapolis

I would like to see Wrigley stay, but sometime there will be a need to replace it. I can see both sides of this issue, and if the Cubs move to another ballpark in Chicago I wouldn't be too distraught. I'll still root for them. Ohh, I'm 24.

Isn't Wrigley on the National Register of Historic Places, and can't be torn down?

BUT i am NOT for wrigley being torn down whether or not it's on the protected list. i do want to go to one game at wrigley before the cubs no longer play there.

Wrigley, 25.

Baseball would not be the same if the Cubs didn't play at Wrigley, but I am not one of those people that thinks my love of the Cubs would be any different. I go to modern parks a few times a year, including last night in Milwaukee, and they are nice to go to occasionally. A nice change of pace. But geez nothing can compare to the atmosphere and experience of Wrigley. Those places seem to stale and just not unique. At the very least, if they had to build a new ballpark, please let it be either on the existing Wrigley location or in that neighborhood. Nothing can top having a ballpark placed in the middle of a thriving dense city neighborhood. I know the hood hasn't always been like that, but since it's improved over the past 25 or so years, its added to Wrigley's allure and awesomeness.

to me the only reason to build a new stadium is to move and be able to play night games whenever you want. That's not happening and rebuilding in the same area seems pointless.
