Haven't had a legit 90 win season since 1989. Figured this would be a shoe in needing 28 games to get just 5 wins. Well now its 18 games to get 4 wins.

I'm starting to be really really worried. They are losing all sorts of games. Hell even the game they won in that stretch they gave up like 8 runs in the last 2 ninings. The last 2 losses were walk off losses. The schedule doesn't get any easier. Everytime we feel like we are getting our swagger back, we blow it, further pushing our confidence to new lows.

 

BTW, we should have scored on that Dempster single that Ankiel bobbled.

 

I'm praying this is just our Cardinals, White Sox, Red Sox slump.

Cause it's Izturis. You expect him to ground out or pop out to shallow right. You can't expect him get a check swing slow rolling game winning hit.

 

My major problem in the 9th was why Marmol kept going with the slider to Lopez... he was out in front every time; had he put it in play, the runner easily moves over to third. He walked him so it's moot, but still.

Luckily, Milwaukee sucks just as much. There is no way in hell this team should still be leading the Central, but somehow they are.

 

I don't get how people say that. It's a 162 game season. We played incredibly awesome for the majority of it. We played bad recently but that doesn't mean we don't deserve it or shouldn't be leading or whatever.

Relax everybody....we're just getting all the ugly losses out of the way now, so once we hit the playoffs we're going on a long winning streak. We're too good not to turn this around.

 

I'm sure they said that in '69. And in '84. And I remember how there was no possible way we'd lose both Games 6 and 7 at home with Prior and Wood starting.

 

It's the Cubs. If there's a way to screw it up, they'll find it.
