OSU. Big Ten love.

Brings up the age old question: Do you root for people in your conference/division when they are playing other conferences/divisions?

OSU wins, sets up a potentially huge date in Madison on 10/4.

No and I've never really understood this. I get the strength of schedule argument, but if you really loathe a team, I can't imagine routing for them in any game.

With the flak that the Big10 has had to take over the past few years, I root for all Big10 schools when they play out of conference too.

the only time I ever rooted for OSU was when they played UMiami in the NC game, and the only time I rooted for Michigan was last year against Florida (re: Meph)

To some extent I do, but not Florida, Alabama and any team Spurrier coaches. I simply hate them too much.

But UGA, UK, Vandy, LSU, Auburn, Miss St, Ole Miss, etc. I have no problem rooting for - so long as their winning doesn't hurt the Vols.

The two teams I truly loathe (Florida and Bama) I can never root for - unless it directly helps UT.

Otherwise I have no problem.

You all know who I root for and I even root for BE teams to beat Syracuse, that way we can get the first pick in the HS draft.

Too bad the #1 HS pick never signs with you, though. There's always a school willing to offer more money I guess. :D

So Arkansas-Texas is pretty much in limbo right now, with the impending hurricane. Postponement would be perfectly fine with me. For some reason I can't even begin to explain, I fell much better about the Hogs' chances against Bama than against UT.

oh wow i hadn't even thought about that. yeah if ike takes the expected track i'm pretty sure they're gonna have to call off that game. the conditions would be horrible to play, but the bigger concern is that you don't want 100,000 people outdoors or traveling to/from the game.

Wow, your location is funny given my phrasing of the above. And Austin was supposed to be an evac center, but now it's possible that Austion will need to BE evacuated. It's a mess, that's for sure.

Austin won't need to be evacuated but flooding is very possible. I remember the 100 year flood down in the hill country in 1999. The river is very problematic.

The game has been postponed to Sept 27.

I have lots of trouble rooting for Oklahoma State and Texas in just about anything.

The page 1 schedule has been updated to reflect Texas/Arkansas's postponement and Air Force/Houston being bumped up two hours.

With Wells out i dont give OSU any chance. They just dont have a dynamic offense without him. Maybe Pryor will give them that added dimension but they hardly used him last week in the tight Ohio game.

How do you live in Columbus and not know that, Derwood?

I avoid all things OSU

Thats impossible if you live in Columbus. You must be a hermit.

And yeah yesterday they were saying he was playing, now they say doubtful. Quick turn of events. I think Tressel was just kidding himself about Wells playing.

not a hermit, I just don't read the local paper and avoid local sports radio unless I'm driving to the grocery store or something. it's not hard to avoid. it's not like I live on campus
