I was waiting for the Fred stat of "The last time the Cubs scored 4 runs in an inning was 8/25/08 against the Pirates, in the 3rd inning of the ongoing game."

Too bad there's no such thing called a "10 run" mercy rule.

Be sure to save some of those runs for tomorrow as well, fellas.

I wonder what Jack Brickhouse would have to say about this team?

This year has been sooo much fun

Go Cubs

No matter the result this will be my most memorable year in the history of my sportswatching life.

CUBS are 33-11 when their pitcher gets a hit.... 47-39 when he doesn't

CUBS are 69-29 when they get at least 8 hits..... 10-21 when they don't

CUBS are 71-42 when they draw at least 2 walks.... 8-8 when they don't

Go CUBS !!

But what's the Cubs record when they have at least 2 4-run innings? :)

My point isn't that it's a conspiracy per se, but that teams definitely gear up for the Cubs. We get everyone's best effort. Other teams don't.

LOL.

But anyways, this game is already out of hand...

I doubt the validity of this vast conspiracy. I figure the Pirates just wanted to give Karstens an extra day of rest, since he struggled his last time out. Didn't seem to work out for them, though.

Hate to say this one's over already though. When the Nationals can put up a quick 6 spot, no game is really over.
