Bummer. It's hard to get too upset when the Brewers really didn't deserve to still be in the game after Suppan's horrific start and leaving a small town on the bases.

Kinda funny that Torre finally figured out that Ethier > Pierre in this series, though. That's something like his third HR of the series.

I like adding another 1.5 games to the lead while on the road. Left 4 up, come home 5.5 up. The season clock is ticking down. 8-)

Agreed, anytime you can gain games while on a road trip it's awesome. Especially one that involved a team we have had a hard time defeating.

Hm...since we already won today, maybe we should be rooting for the Brewers, so that the Dodgers can jump into a first place tie?

Nah

Wow, what the heck was I thinking here. I had that all types of backwards. I'm sure somebody has pointed out how dumb I am by now, haven't read.

Who is the co-host on the Brewers' post-game. Is that Cirillo?

Wow he's terrible, LOL.

Yeah, Cirillo has been working on the Brewers Live pre/post-game shows for about a year and a half now. He definitely struggles with the in-studio stuff...reading off a teleprompter is obviously not his thing. When they just let him talk baseball, however, he's actually pretty fun to listen to. I'd love it if he would eventually replace Bill Schroeder as the Brewers' color analyst, because I feel like he has a lot more baseball knowledge than Schroeder, and he's less likely to say something stupid. Back when Cirillo was still playing, they let him in the booth when he was on the DL with a broken wrist, and he was great helping with commentary.

Really, they need to get him out of the studio. Davey Nelson is another guy who knows a ton about the game, but struggles with the post-game shows because he has a hard time articulating what he's thinking.

Kyle Lohse threw at Edinson Volquez today after Volquez lost one that went up and in near Lohse.

Edinson Volquez. A freaking pitcher.

I seriously can't believe sometimes what a gutless, low-class organization St. Louis is, especially considering they always get so much credit for being the complete opposite.

Now let's see how the hot Astros do. They'll either be out of it after the Brewer series, or else they'll deal the Crew some unexpected, but most welcome, home losses.

Gonna be a tough one. Wolf vs. Sabathia, especially with the Brewers ability to hit lefties looks like a huge mismatch.

When he faced off against the Brewers last month, he went 4.1 IP 7H 4R 3BB

They reap the benefits of having a very supportive, very well-repesented fan base.

But yeah -- they have absolutely no claim on being a classy ballclub or anything like that. At least, no more than any other club.

Schroeder is beyond terrible. my favorite part of the telecasts are when Coshun interviews some random old guy from the Brewers dugout who's wearing a uniform immediately following the game

On the Cards post-game the yapping heads agreed that Volquez was not trying to hit Lohse. OTOH, Lohse's intent was pretty clear.

TLR is old school about beanballs, but I think Lohse did this one on his own. Guess you don't need to be told to retaliate when you're the one who gets the bowtie.

He really is not THAT bad, he stumbles now and then, its his 1st real year doing this, just give him a break.

You should of watched the last two nights however, the game didn't get over until like 12:30 CT, so you could tell Rillo was tired and was all jacked up on coffee when they went back to the studio.

Josh Hamilton was just intentionally walked with the bases loaded in the 9th.

Awesome. Does he still get the RBI?

Yep. It worked too. Marlon Byrd was up next as the game winning run. He struck out to end it.

5.5 up.

A few base hits by the Cubs and Dodgers Saturday, and it could have easily been 6.5.

True, but one less Fatty Ward HR the day before and it's back down to 5.5.
