We owed Florida that 8 spot, not as big, but certainly sweet! Reed Johnson is the signing of the year. Suck it, Marlins organization! Edited by ChiCubsfan0502

Seriously, I want to talk to a Marlins fan about Gonzalez. I thought bar none Yost was one of the worst situational managers in baseball...but geez I just don't know now.

When you find one, you let us know.

Pooyakah!

Seriously, if Reed can keep hitting righties, we wont have to worry about a platoon partner for him next year.

I hope with every ounce of hope I have that we don't go into next season with Johnson as our only CFer.

With the off day tomorrow, Lou should manage this game like it's a lead of 3 or less. Marmol and Wood to close it out, go home with a blowout win and a series win.

What's this "Marlins fan" you speak of?

Looking at the Fan Graph, that has to be one of the biggest swings of the season not involving the ninth inning.

The Marlins were about 80% to win before the inning and now the Cubs are at 98%.

That's what I'm saying...yes he doesn't hit righties nearly as well as he does lefties. But he has a better approach against the weaker handed pitcher than hitters like Edmonds or Fontenot do. Lou recognizes this and plays Reed accordingly.

It's unbelievable how good of a situational manager Lou can be at times. Sometimes you scratch your head, but overall he does what we all would want a manager to do. It took me almost 2 years to confidently say that after the Dusty Baker era scarred me.

And a 5-1 trip.
