Cardinals (Thompson) @ Reds (Arroyo) - 6:10 PM

Brewers (Parra) @ Dodgers (Billingsley) - 9:40 PM

Who the heck cares about the Cards/Reds game. Hopefully the Dodgers keep their streak going.

What are the pitching matchups for the Brewers/Dodgers series?

Parra/Billingsly

Bush/Lowe

Suppan/Kershaw

Nice. Those are pretty favorable matchups for the Dodgers.

Dodgers have a tough lineup too

Ethier

Kemp

Kent

Manny

Loney

Martin

Nomah

Casey Blake

Juan Pierre off the bench.

This will be nice test for the Brewers after everyone saying how unbeatable they are after going 8-2 against 3 of the worst teams in history.

What's really great is:

A. They're facing a team with more than one major league starting pitcher

B. They're facing a lineup that'll be able to hit that crap the Brewers call a bullpen (one can rave all they wish about these unbeatable Brewers but, when you've got Solomon Torres as your closer you're going to have problems)

D. Its at Dodger Stadium

Which is why the sweep isnt out of the question, plus its part of the Brewers MO. Just when you think they're unstoppable they go on a 2-8 streak, and then when you think they've collapsed, they go on another winning streak.

LA is going to take at least 2 out of 3, would be nice if we could do the same thing

Considering they miss Sabathia and Sheets, they had better.

So when do we start thinking seriously about playoff scenarios with 40 games left?

If the Cubs can just "stay aflot" at .500 in their remaining games, 20-20, that'll put them at 95-67 to finish the season.

Including tonight, (if we went .500 the rest of the way) Milwaukee would have to finish 26-14 to win the division. And the Cardinals would have to end their remaining 37 games at 27-10 to keep the Northsiders out of the playoffs altogether.

Regardless to say, while I hope we finish 25-15 or better [would be sweet to see 3 figures in the left-hand column]; if we only go .500, I really like our chances at winning the division and HFA for the NL playoffs.
