Ergo, Dunn is the MVP (record w/Dunn v. Record w/o Dunn).

 

He's made their line-up better just by gracing their diamond.

I love when people post in a thread simply to complain that others are discussing/arguing the clearly-marked topic of that thread.

Has anyone heard any rumors on who the other PTBNL is? Also, what is the deadline for the PTBNL to be sent over? I'll be pissed if AZ gets to use Owings and Dunn in the playoffs then they send Owings to the Reds after the postseason.

With the lineup Arizona has around him, I'd walk him almost 30% of the time also. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see his OBP be around the .450 range with the DBacks for the rest of the year because of it. There's just no reason to pitch to him.

Marquis is a better pitcher than Owings.

 

Kevin Hart is a better pitcher then Owings. If I am the Reds, I would use the offseason, and tell Owings he will play Fall League as a LF, and not as a pitcher. Why waste his ability as a hitter, when he sucks as a pitcher, and is most likely back end of the rotation/swing type pitcher. I say, put Owings in LF, and let him concentrate on hitting only.

They won't do this because this is the Reds, and Dusty is their manager. They're going to need depth once Dusty successfully sidelines both Cueto and Volquez simultaneously.

Is he the anti-MVP now? they are scoring virtually .5 a run a game less with him and are on the brink of being out of it.

 

his ops is virtually identical but his slg is way down and obp is way up. I know which way I'd rather have it but that would start a whole new discussion.

 

If it weren't for Richardi and his panic induced rants I think Toronto would be the perfect place for him.

That is a little odd. It suggests he is getting pitched around more in AZ than he was in Cincy. That tells you what the rest of the league thinks about AZs offense.
