I sold my 4 front row upper deck seats for the NLDS game 3 last year for $900. Personally my plan is to get lucky in the VWR, buy 4 tickets, sell 2 of them, and use the other 2.

Just want to remind you, I think you're a great guy.

Everyone should go to the VWR and have 50+ windows open... Cubs WS tickets are going to go for minimum 10x face value... you'd be stupid to not enter the free lotto.

i would go up also, but just to start fires and flip over police cars.

is there any chance Sox fans won't do that stuff, just to make Cubs fans look bad, or because they are pissed? This sort of stuff is going to happen. Hopefully it's isolated and minimal, but it's a mistake to think Cubs fans are above bad behavior.

I just went out to Expedia to check on hotel rates for the WS weekend, because, you know, it wouldn't hurt to have a reservation just in case.

WOW - they've already got them jacked up. Everything in the Loop/MagMile area is in the $300 - $500 a night range.

i think it's more likely to happen outside wrigleyville

I remember when the Bulls won their first championship, and it was pretty bad. The Cubs winning it will be probably 100x worse. Its the most stupid thing Ive ever seen in my life. Lets celebrate my favorite team winning a championship by looting and burning down the city...

So what will tickets go for in the VWR?

But will they jack up the 'face value' price? Or will it be the same price as the whatever regular season game against whatever team?

Yes, it'll definitely be higher than regular season prices.

So then the term 'face value' really doesn't hold much water, per say.

I could be wrong, but I think the cheap seats are like $100 or more. It'll be interesting to see wha they'd do with CBOE auction seats. Do the people who won those auctions get those seats, or is there a new auction? Those could be $5000 apiece face.

I think I paid around $50 face for NLDS tickets last year... they were upper deck reserved.

NLCS is higher and World Series is still higher.. I think the prices are set by MLB for the playoffs...Could be wrong. If so, SRO face value for the World Series is around $60-70 (based on what I remember hearing they cost for Colorado last year).

Face value means the price of the ticket as purchased from whatever entity is hosting the game/show/etc. No matter what the face value of Wrigley Field playoff tickets becomes, the value on the secondary market is going to be higher.

Right, I know what the definition of face value is. But to say 'face value' to the bolded question really gives me no information, hence the 2nd question (in italics), followed by the SB comment.

There isn't any information. The ticket prices haven't been announced, but you can bet they will be a heck of a lot higher than the next Cubs/Nationals game.

Speaking of the next Cubs/Nats game, any update on those tix?

3x face.

Actually, I haven't gotten a final head count for who is going, so I'm not sure if I have extras or not.

Alright, just so there is time to do whatever to pay for and get the tickets.
