I definitely never said Huet was bad. But I don't think he's the right player for this team.

How is a goalie not a "right player for the team"? A good goalie is the right player for every team. A good goalie is a good goalie. I don't see how team is a factor... unless yo're talking about his character

btw those sarcastic huet comments weren't made towards you. they were at Q for pulling him for no reason after the 1st

Huet's biggest weakness is he tends to give up long rebounds. In the playoffs, he'll need a team of big, physical defensemen to keep the front of the net clear. The Blackhawks' defensemen are good, but they aren't that type.

I gave up on this one after the 1st. Thanks hangover from Friday. So I can't say if Khabi looked as bad as Huet did. I have to imagine that the guys know they have to turn it up a notch when he is playing. And that cranks up the pressure on them, especially the defenseman. Walker looked bad in the 1st last night. But he's been overachieving all year.

It's alright though. Put this one behind them, and now they play two doormats (albeit one is St. Louis, who look like superstars when they play the Hawks this year) to finish out the trip.

It wasn't hard to see that one coming. Run 'em ragged on the road for weeks, a ton of travel/games packed into very few nights. This is what happens.

Screw you, disney.

Or he'll need to not give up long rebounds, since that's basically death for any goalie.

As soon as he starts doing that, let me know.

Again, how did Huet look bad? He had no chance whatsoever at any of those 3 gols he gave up.

He did have a chance... but he had no one in front of him... it wasn't ALL Huet's fault, but he definitely didn't help matters.

I really don't see how he had any chance at any of those 3 goals

How about the one where he took about ten seconds to go from post to post and was late diving over. He's awful with his angles, he handles the puck poorly. In short, he sucks.

In case any of you missed it...

Beach scores on a breakaway empty net goal and gets a stick thrown at him... watch what ensues.

I don't think Beach did anything wrong, some people argue he shouldn't have slowed up and he was "showboating", I disagree.

If he sucks then why are his stats towards the top of the league?

Wow. Thanks for posting. I haven't been following Beach's season, but I wonder if that was more a reputation thing. If another player had done what he did (slowing done, hot-dogging the EN goal), perhaps that may not have happened.

But either way, I agree with the announcer that it was handled horribly by the ref. That one fella turtled while that MH player beat the living hell out of him. I don't blame his teammates for jumping the bench in that situation. If the guy didn't do anything to incite it, and he's not fighting back, you can't just keep whaling on him.

And especially a butterfly goalie. A butterfly goalie by definition commits himself by going down into the butterfly position and in doing so puts himself in a bad position to deal with rebounds. Butterfly goalies cannot be successful and give up a ton of rebounds. If anyone remembers the home Sharks game right before the circus road trip where he gave up 6 goals, that game was a perfect example of what not to do as a butterfly goalie.
