The schedule-makers should be shot. I know it's been discussed here, but come on. Hawks have to play again tonight?

If they come out flat tonight and lose, I wouldn't even be able to blame them.

Can't complain too much about the schedule, because there was a couple of times in the first half of the season in which the Blackhawks had 3-5 days off between games. No use in complaining of schedule when it was favorable earlier in the season.

Actually, a good argument can be made that 5 days in between games isn't always a good idea either.

Well the Rangers face the same thing we do by playing in MSG.

We have to deal with the Bulls/Circus/Disney On Ice/Concerts etc... they have to deal with the Knicks and the same things we do.

With there only being so many days in the hockey season and 30 teams to accomodate, I assume this was one of the only ways they could work it all in based on the factors I mentioned.

I hate it too and I think it sucks, but it is what it is.

The good thing, in terms of the schedule, is that the Hawks are presently 9 points clear of Anaheim for the 4th seed with FIVE games in hand. Now, granted, they are only 11 points clear of Minnesota and Minnesota (er, Dallas), all with 50 GP.

So, the way I look at it, finish this trip strong and then romp through all the home games in March. Not bad for a home stretch.

I don't mine a lot of games in few days. That's professional sports but I don't like how we have this long road trip.

Having played in lots of holiday hockey tournaments, let me tell you its ridiculously draining. And thats obviously on a completely different level than the NHL. By the end of those things its like you are a zombie out there. But its OK because the other team just went through the same thing. In the NHL thats not the case. Hockey is a ridiculously exhausting sport, you can't play too many games in too short of a time.

That's a good point. I guess I underestimated how tiring it is because I've never played ice hockey (I played pick up street hockey but that's not close to the level of intensity of organized ice hockey.).

what's going on at the united center again?

..quick check...

hah. disney on ice. so they've actually got the hockey rink set up and everything. i think that's funny, maybe a little ironic even. i'm glad this team is good enough to overcome.

We've definitely had our chances and stunk it up.

Bad passing, bad shooting, TERRIBLE defense.

And the refs aren't going to help us in the least the rest of the game... I'm pissed about some of the non-calls... but regardless the Hawks are getting outplayed.
