Here are the results for the Brewers:

2. Paul Molitor

3. Cecil Cooper

The next team will be the Diamondbacks.

I agree with the Brewers list in that order.

As for the DBacks their "greatest players in franchise history" this is going to be tricky. The top 2 IMO will be Randy Johnson and Luis Gonzalez the third will be either Brandon Webb or Curt Schilling. I would go with Webb, because he's accomplished more with Arizona then Schilling did, but I could see Schilling getting the nod because of the world series. Outside of Webb, the DBacks (and later the Rockies/Marlins and Rays) are going to have tweeners on their lists.

My choices for the Diamondbacks:

3. Steve Finley (he had better career numbers with the Diamondbacks than Schilling)

2. Luis Gonzalez

1. Randy Johnson

Tomorrow will be the Padres.

I'd put Prince Fielder on that list for the sole reason that ever since he shoved Manny Parra twice, the Brewers are undefeated. The two shoves clearly spared the Brewers to a combined seven miracle wins over the Reds, Nationals and Padres.

I don't think anyone is suggesting replacing Santo with Sosa

No, I couldn't imagine how bad it would be to listen to Sammy's hard accent for 9 innings.

PAT: So, Sammy, who do you think will win today?

SAMMY: Weh' Pat, I berry berry optimistee dat Cuhs goan win besibol

Outside of that 1982 team, there isn't much to love about the Brewers. That was my favorite team as a kid. I probably went to 4 or 5 games that year. I still have my Robin Yount jersey-shirt that my mom made when I was 7

I went back and looked at that team for sentimental reasons (it was really my first favorite team) and I think they're one of the most underrated teams of the past 30 years. 95 wins, AL Pennant, lost a close series to the Cardinals in October. Home run totals were pretty crazy:

Gorman Thomas: 39

Ben Oglive: 34

Cecil Cooper: 32

Robin Yount: 29

Ted Simmons: 23

Paul Molitor: 19

Four guys with 100+ RBI (and Simmons with 97). Lead the AL in Runs, AB's, HR and SLG and were 2nd in Hits, Doubles and Batting Average.

LMAO @ Fred McStiff. I lost all respect for that guy after his impassioned play for us. He sucked the last half of his career.

Why would you put Clemente above Wagner??

it's about who you associate with the team, not necessarily the best statistically. When I think of the Pirates, Stargell and Clemente are the first names that come to mind

Blackbeard for me.

I agree. Wagner did have better career numbers than Clemente, but I picked Clemente because he didn't just have an impact with his numbers, he also had an immense impact on hispanic players in Major League Baseball.

I'm also not much of a baseball historian, so I'll admit that I didn't even know that Honus Wagner was a Pirate. After the Clemente/Stargell era Pirates the next ones I think of are the Bonds/Van Slyke/Bonilla teams

That's surprising. I would have figured that most all knowledgeable baseball fans (and I consider you one) would have known what teams "The First Five" played for. I know a lot of smart baseball fans don't really know or care much about the history of the game, but I would have thought that a smart fan would at least have casual passing knowledge of who the big dogs in baseball's history played for.
