A ways to go, but I think if Soto can hang in there his All-Star game start and playing for a contending team will give him an edge like Willis had over Webb in 2003.

Dont look no, but Fukudome and Soto are neck and neck as far as OPS gos, both in the .800 neighborhood, plus the fact that Kosuke is amazing on the field.

 

.800 neighborhood? Soto has a .843 OPS, Kosuke a .799 OPS :-k

And Soto plays the position on one end of the defensive spectrum, with Kosuke down near the other side.

Jurrjens will be a victim of timing. The voters will go with the guy who hits 5th on the team with the best record in the league over the pitcher on the team that is 6-23 in 1 run ballgames.

I agree. I think Soto wins it barring a complete 0-fer the rest of the way, but he won't necessarily have been the best rookie by that point. He's been pretty worthless for about a month it seems.
