That point is moot, though, because anybody who actually believes that saying those things are jinxes (or that jinxes even exist) are batcrap crazy.

Please stop making sense. It's taking all the fun out of game threads.

I like to go into game threads after a loss, just so I can keep track of all the posters that I shouldn't like

that was one of the most boring games I've ever been to. There was absolutely nothing to cheer for. Definitely an emotional letdown after the big Milwaukee series.

To those of us who arent superstitious, it sounds crazy. But does it really sound any crazier than a player who always wears his lucky undershirt, or rally thong, or rally pedophile mustach? Baseball players are known to be a superstitious bunch, and many fans are as well.

Almost as though the players were working on their goofy pre game routines while the game tape on these crappy pitchers was rolling.

I fell asleep on the couch in the fifth and woke up in the ninth.

I fell asleep following Gameday. When I woke up, my boss was standing behind me and well, I have a lot more time to watch day games now :(

For all those that say that the Cubs never play day games anyone, did anyone realize that the Cubs are in a stretch where they play 14 out of 16 home games during the day?

They will take the next two, no worries.

Lilly

A bad performance today. They should be ready to kick tail this weekend.

My only concern is that Soto and Lee have been very bad lately.

Today was a blah loss, oh well. I suspect the Cubs will take the next two very comfortably.

that seems like a pretty weak reason to fire someone. sure you weren't watching porno?

I'd just like to thank the Cubs for their great performance at maybe the only Cubs game I'll be at this whole year. God Freakin Damnit.

Oh well, there's a chance I'll get to go to another game before I go home. They better at least score one freaking run if I go.

That's what I was thinking, if the Pirates were going to win, today (technically, yesterday here) was their best shot, they don't have much of chance vs Lilly and Zambrano.

Maholm is no joke.

He's never done much against the Cubs and he did toss 118 pitches last time, so maybe we can get to him.

Friday's game to me said the Cubs took a "mental breather" after such an exciting week. That said, I expect the Cubs that we saw in Milwaukee return and just spank the Pirates.

i'd boo the hell out of jim edmonds. partly because i hate him from his days with the cards, and partly because he's now a terrible player who has no business playing for a team that's contending for a division.

:x

hey, at least i was right about ryan theriot. (blind squirrel finding nut?)

Employment in Illinois is at will; An employee can be terminated for any reason or no reason at all (unless you are in a union).

yeah but just because you CAN fire someone doesn't mean you necessarily want to. if you've gone through the hassle of hiring and training someone, usually you're going to be inclined to keep them around unless you've got a good reason to get rid of them.
