win this game and it's 20 games over.

then it would be Harden going for 21 over... that guy never gets a break :(

How many different times have the Cubs been 20 games over .500 this season? They've never been able to get to 21 over.

I believe we're 0-5 when going for 21 games over.

I see them at 0-4 with losses on June 17 (at 45-25, lost 3-2 to Tampa Bay), June 24 (at 48-28, lost 7-5 to Baltimore), June 26 (at 49-29, lost 11-4 to Baltimore) and July 12 (at 57-37, lost 4-2 to San Francisco).

Reed Johnson batting 5th.

It worked last time, I guess.

Decent lineup, and while I don't like seeing Soto sitting out more often than usual lately as a fan, I recognize that it's probably a smart idea.

Since there's no "other games" thread. Alex Gordon has a fun line today. 0 for 0 with 5 walks. The last 2 walks were intentionally, but he technically had 22 pitches thrown to him and only 2 for strikes. The last 14 pitches he saw were balls. He took 1 swing in the game and missed on a 2-0 count.

I would think if we won tonight, we'll throw a joke lineup out there tomorrow afternoon.

On one hand, you could go for the knockout blow. On the other hand, you may be able to go for the knockout blow without your best. Bush is very hittable and Harden has been great as a Cub. I think the regulars will be all in there tomorrow. I think there will be the incentive to get Harden his 1st win in a Cubs uniform.

Parra's splits are very telling.... he's much better at home than on the road, 3.15 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, .246 BAA at home vs. 4.50, 1.60, .290 on the road.

However, he has a 1.51 WHIP and a .275 BAA against right handed hitters vs a 1.34/.219 vs lefties. Think our right handed dominated lineup gets to him.

He also pitches much better indoors than outdoors. Indoor ERA 2.91, WHIP 1.31, BAA .239 -- Outdoors it goes to 4.43, 1.62 .288

Last year, he started once against us and we got to him early..

3.0 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 9.00 ERA, 2.00 WHIP

Let's do it boys!

Not fair that the Brewers get 9 and the Cubs only get 8.

Lou's just trying to even things up a bit.

Looking ahead at tomorrow's matchup makes me think tonight's game is much more important to win....

Even though we have Harden going tomorrow, Dave Bush has been really really good at home this year, and dominant in day games. 0.99 WHIP at home, 0.74 in Day games..
