Thank You.

And wow, Soriano owns Sabathia. Good thing Soriano is in a slu... O.. :banghead:

Will Fukudome play against Sabathia? or will he get the day off with the left on the mound?

LF Soriano

SS Theriot

1B Lee

3B A-Ram

C Soto

RF DeRosa

CF Johnson

2B Cedeno

P Lilly

would that line up make any sense. (Im playing MVP 2005 with updated rosters and I want to play this game with the right line ups    )

If it were up to me, I'd leave Fukudome in. All he seems to lose against the left handers is SLG......

Fukudome AB R H 2b 3b HR RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS BABIP P/PA IsoD RBI%
vs Left 86 13 24 5 1 0 10 16 19 0.279 0.385 0.360 0.745 0.358 4.57 0.106 0.179
vs Right 271 48 75 14 1 7 26 45 59 0.277 0.382 0.413 0.795 0.332 4.27 0.105 0.154

All pitchers 357 61 99 19 2 7 36 61 78 0.277 0.382 0.401 0.783 0.338 4.34 0.105 0.162

While I don't mean to minimize the importance of SLG, in this particular case, we're considering trading Fukudome in the lineup for Cedeno. Now, Ronny's splits vs. Lefthander look a whole lot worse.......

Cedeno AB R H 2b 3b HR RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS BABIP P/PA IsoD RBI%
vs Left 73 5 19 4 0 1 8 6 12 0.260 0.316 0.356 0.673 0.300 3.80 0.056 0.132
vs Right 68 17 20 4 0 1 13 7 17 0.294 0.368 0.397 0.765 0.380 3.86 0.074 0.267

All pitchers 141 22 39 8 0 2 21 13 29 0.277 0.342 0.376 0.718 0.336 3.83 0.065 0.194

So, in my mind, if it's a choice between Fukudome & Cedeno vs. the tough lefty...... I'm going Fukudome.

I will be in Brew Town for the game tomorrow.

The Cubs are 2-0 when I go to their games.

A "W" is a lock.

I'd love to get 3 out of 4 in this series, although that may be asking for too much. We need to play smart, and forget that we're on the road.

My guess at the line-up...

GO CUBS!

Sorry, but I've got to root for the Brew-crew for the first game simply because of Sabathia.

But, I'm with the cubbies the rest of the series!

Let's stick to talking about the game. Thanks.

Yeah, I see.

He is hitting like .500 in his career vs. Milwaukee. :banghead:

Good thing for you guys those games were during a time when Kosuke still knew how to hit, which he apparently has forgotten. Hope the dude gets his groove back, and quickly.

Go Brewers!!!

Your posting here is becoming less and less constructive

Beertown, ElCaballo is one of the good non-Cub fans on this site, so chill my friend, and don't treat him like some random ESPN troll trash.

You're right. I don't know what I was thinking.

I made my point and I was done with it, Marmol has pitched better since then. But all Cub fans have to admit during those times you guys were not worried about him, because you were.

This will be my last post during the Game Thread so I dont cause a big fight, Good Luck and hopefully no one gets hurt.

should be a great series... the two worst pitchers in each rotation are not going and the teams are only separated by one game. it's nice to have a series that is so important in late july... i still don't take it for granted after all the God-awful cub teams i've seen. and, i'm semi-happy for brewer fans that they have a legitimate playoff contender to root for, since they've been in the same boat as us cub fans for a lot of years.

I have to admit that I had really hoped for a Harden vs. Sabathia matchup here as soon as we got Rich. I would love to have us take that one just to make a statement. That said, if Lilly can get it done and the Harden game is won against Dave Bush who we are bound to hit hard at some point, that would do just as good for me.

This game has all the makings.....of Lilly crapping the bed. He really needs to be on, especially early. Ryan Braun is the guy you can't let beat you. He's red hot, has killed LHPs (literally last year), and has a LH behind him in Fielder. I do think the Cubs will get to Sabathia. He has thrown 3 straight CGs, though his pitch counts haven't been horrible. Theriot and Fukudome need to make CC work and do damage on the basepaths. I expect any offensive production the Cubs get to come from Johnson, Soto, and Soriano, but the rest of the guys need to run that pitch count up.

My hope is that the past two or three weeks were our Dunkirk. We still have a 1 game lead. May tonight begin Operation Overlord!

Sunday's results were big. Split now, and leave Milwaukee with the lead intact. Lose 3, and we're only down 1, still in contact. Take 3 of 4... and suddenly we're back in the driver's seat.

For all the recent angst about the bats, I think the key will be our starters. If we can get some more solid, quality starts, we should be OK. We had men on base throughout the Marlins series; the key hits just weren't dropping. So Mr. Lilly, if ever you were going to revert to '07 form, today would be a fine day to do so. Stealing the first game would be huge.

Only Myers above Lilly in HR allowed in MLB. Scary, with the HR dependent brewcrew. As said though, I think we get to CC.
