Samardzija will not see the minors again this year. He's here to stay.

Probably.

I just hope they let him start next season in the rotation.

Very much so agree. I hope that the $10 million will dictate he starts next season.

If Shhark can stay consistent the rest of the year out of the pen, I'd imagine it would impact Dempster being brought back (assuming a high price, which seems likely)

That was a fun game. Let's hope that this offense is starting to get hot and take it to the 2nd place Brewers this week.

When Sori hits the offense is great. Need to win game 1.

Good win, great catch by Jimmy, and great outing by Samardja. However, I have to ask what the hell is Scott Eyre on this team for right now? Lou simply refuses to use him. He warms up, then Lou wont bring him in. What the hell is up

For next year I'm hoping we cut Marquis (hopefully this year), trade Lilly, sign someone like Sabathia (our new owner, Mark Cuban, will have the money), and go with a rotation of Zambrano, Sabathia, Harden, Hill, Samardzija. The amazing part is that it doesn't seem that unrealistic.

This was a perfect day of Baseball after it seemed it was going to be a demoralizing one.

Cubs Win

Brewers lose

Cardinals lose

White Sox lose

Twins win

Tigers win.

Wow!! That's good stuff. Time to fire up the grill, put a NY strip on, have a cold one and relax. 8-)

Jeff Samardzija is absolutely nasty. So wonderful to see. :D

Still need to get Marquis the hell out of there, but I'm on a high right now.

I still think Samarddzija is best suited as a bullpen arm.

I'd like to see Cuban get the team, and go with a rotation of Zambrano, Sabathia, Harden, Lilly, and Dempster.

Wood as closer, Marmol and Shark in the set-up roles.

Sabathia has stated his first 2 choices are The Dodgers and Angels, both teams that would love to have him, and both teams that could easily afford him.

What other FA pitchers are there for Cuban to snatch up?

I disagree.

Sadly, we'll see with Rich.

While others have said CC is out of reach because of his California ties, if the Cubs are spending big, they can get him. I don't think the Cubs will be splurging, even with Cuban (because it's his first offseason).

But I hope one of Marquis or Lilly is gone next season.

I disagree.

I'll take a back end of the pen of Samardzija, Marmol and Woody this year and next year. That's a lethal 7-8-9 inning combo.

Watch who you're tying that garbage to.

I fixed it!!
