its honestly minorly embarrassing that we haven't won the world series in 100 but yeah doesn't affect my satisfaction that much

It is an indictment of how poorly anyone and everyone who has run this team in the last 100 years is

Yeah, well, after living through the '84 debacle trust me I would rather have won.

Yea, I'm glad I wasn't around for that...but our generation of fans definitely got our own version of that in '03. I can honestly say I didn't need to find out what it felt like.

The subsequent disastrous collapse of that pitching staff (which would've made us a playoff powerhouse for years to come) over the next few years was the cherry on top.

For me it's seeing these horrible patterns, and then fearing the next repeat.

For example: from my perspective, 2003 & 2004 wound being a replay of '84 and '85 in soooo many ways. Just seeing that history repeat itself like that was incredibly depressing. Then I sit there and go, "OK, this is the next '03 right?" ".....and here comes the next '85!!"

It's bad, I know. But I can't help it. I feel like I've seen these same couple movies too many times. I'd rather not see yet another sequel, know what I mean?

Yeah, but you also realize that that's totally irrational, and stupid magic and pixie dust like that isn't real, and what happened 24 years ago has no bearing on what's happening right now.

I do realize it's irrational. Absolutely. But guess what? That just adds to the frustration. Shouldn't be able to happen *AGAIN*.

The Cubs have the best record in the NL.

Why are Cubs fans so passionate on the road?

There is more beer. It works in Japan where you can even drink at the movies.

Wow. Yost has no regard for CC's arm. Did he not get the memo about CC's playoff "performance" last year?
