BTW, Carlos Zambrano drove one of the Fitch Park golf carts around the place like it was a go-cart. It's lucky he didn't kill somebody (like maybe himself).

And RHP Dae-Eun Rhee has arrived at Fitch Park to begin his long rehab from Tommy John Surgery. So far he's wearing one of those custom TJS splints on his elbow, and a khaki-colored "We're Broke" t-shirt (with the picture of a bear with it's leg in a sling on the back) that the rehab guys receive when they arrive. (I'd like to get me one of those).

haahahahahahahah

That's awesome that Z was there.

Soriano is 1 for 3 with a single and a strikeout.

IF single to shortstop in the first.

Flew out to CF in the third.

Struck out swinging in the fifth.

He was pulled defensively in the fifth.

Pie hurt his ankle sliding into second on a double. He left the game.

Ugh. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

The Iowa announcers said it wasn't a sprain. He should be fine.

"He was really close to starting the year with us, and I can certainly see why," Cubs manager Jody Davis said. "He swings the bat real hard and he's got great plate discipline. He's been outstanding for us."

Is it any wonder why this organization hasn't had a genuinely good offensive team in ages?

You are against swinging hard?

I suppose he might be thinking swing out of his butt and being off balance instead of good bat speed.

SOUTHERN LEAGUE

Prospect Of The Day

A pair of rainouts cut into the competition for POTD honors, but Tennessee catcher Welington Castillo (Cubs) made his mark with a 3-for-5 night in which he clubbed his eighth double in 29 Double-A games. Castillo was far from dominant early in the season with high Class A Daytona, where he batted .273/.299/.339 in 121 at-bats. Nevertheless, the Cubs promoted Castillo, still just 21, to Double-A. In his 29 games with the Smokies, Castillo has been one of the league’s most valuable players, hitting .343/.420/.545 in 99 at-bats while playing the game’s most challenging defensive position.
