No home runs for Lee in a month. Aramis has hit horribly for over a month. Fukudome is an offensive black hole. The bench is very weak outside of some "sneaky power" here and there. This team definitely needs a boost in the bats department on top of Soriano coming back.

THE ASTROS WIN THE WORLD SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No wait, they are still in last place. I would put one in Tejada's ear tomorrow.

What did he do? They didn't mention anything on the radio. I'm assuming he was posing after the leaping catch?

I'm honestly scared for Valverde's mental health, the guy is OCD beyond belief. Dude's going to meltdown on the mound some day.

Posing and yelling. Between he and Valverde it was ridiculous.

Yeah, when he landed he stood there in this ridiculous position then started making a throat slitting motion.

And the 20 game losing streak is well underway. :banghead:

Yup.

That sound you hear is the bottom falling out.

Seriously though......coming out of the break by losing in Houston is not cool. I hate the Astros.

I, for one, hope the Cubs are the team they are playing when he does it. The guy is a Class A [expletive] if you ask me.

The Cubs offense got shut-up by the mediocre lefty (IDC about his split, medicore is mediocre). The only reason way the team didn't get shut out, because Z didn't want to be shut out.

2 runs in 18 innings, guys. Congrats.

He is, you don't see Wood doing that crap. It is one thing for the starter to do it after he blew through a team. You got the bottom three guys out with a three run lead jackass.

Nah, f that.

Ryan had better earhole him tomorrow.

Two games that are continuing some very clear and worrisome trends.

Their last two wins were pretty crappy as well.

I'll grant you Kosuke, but who else?

Ramirez is slumping, he'll be fine.

Lee has lost his power, but it's not a physical thing with his wrist because he was hitting for power earlier this year. I bet he'll bounce back, nothing ridiculous, but probably 12-15 HR in the second half.

Other than those three, what are the worrisome trends?

We need a big game from Demp tomorrow. Lincecum has to perform vs. the Brew Crew and it looks like the Cards have rookie Garcia going but SD has Baek pitching (nothing special).

Hopefully we can get a game back.

Plus, the offense as a whole has been sluggish recently, but Lilly pitched a hell of a ballgame yesterday (in a tiny ballpark) after a terrible outing the time before. That's a positive note that is worthy of mention. The cubs as a whole were one of the best offense teams in baseball in the first half. They added a frontline starter that has only pitched a game for us thus far. We have another legitimate no. 1, Dempster (who looked lights out at the AS game), Lilly, and Marquis rounding out the rotation. That's a great offense, a great rotation, and a really good pen. We will be fine.
