I can't believe Lou only used Gaudin for 2/3s of an inning.

What a horrible, horrible inning. Marmol needs to go on the DL and Lou needs to stop abusing the hell out of him. This is pure insanity.

and Cotts for 1/3 of an inning.

We still have Lieber, Marshall and maybe Wood? who knows.

Welp Harden 0-0 as a Cub leaving the game with a 7 run lead interesting. Thanks Marmol and Lou WTF! Please hit a walk off somebody. Ward? If he is a Pinch Hitter.

Someone needs to call Lou to task for this. This is horrible managing, period.

Thanks for ruining Harden's first outing Lou. Now we're going into extras probably with no pitchers. Chances are good this is now a loss.

NICE JOB.

for those who couldn't see, a hard grounder that theriot dives for and gets. he tries to toss it to second (not a short toss) while lying on his back, and throws it wayyyyyyyyyyyyy over the base, into right field, allowing the tying run to score

I would have pulled Marmol after they got within 3, but its hard to blame Lou for the dumb play Theriot made. Game might be over otherwise.

If we do not win this, I don't know what I'm going to do.

Seriously, I should feel comfortable in the 9th with a 5 run lead.

Again, Theriot is a defensive liability.

How about a big ol F-YOU to the wrigley faithful.

Giving up the lead stinks.

Lou leaving marmol in stinks.

However, our team is in 1st place. They have the best record in the league. [expletive] happens over the course of 162 games. Things could be worse. Things have been worse.

Far be it for me to think the cubs could score in the 9th and win the game.

I cannot believe Marmol was allowed to pitch so long in that trainwreck inning.

I still don't understand what I just saw.

This is completely unbelievable. What was Lou thinking.

That's the problem. He wasn't thinking.

it's like he kept hoping that marmol's struggles would just iron themselves out in this game. i understand starting the inning with him with a pretty comfortable cushion, but when he is putting everyone on base it's time to go to marshall.

There is something strange going on there. Lou usually has a quicker hook than that.

Yeah but that's not the point. Lou's an idiot for letting Marmol continue to blow up out there, regardess of what Theriot does. The man's arm is swiss cheese, Jesus.
