from GRB:

Let's post the optimistic things that we can get out of Mulder's recent outing.

Tonight:

16 pitches = 48 pitches an inning / average. He's being economical.

his BAA was .000, a significant improvement to the .571 he had.

his 27k/9 is much better than the 6.75k/9 he had coming into the season.

His ERA was 0.00

Looks like he won't be a factor anytime soon.

Good for the Cubs, but I feel bad for the guy.

This is terrible news for the Cubs.

how so? its one of those arms that st. louis fan was counting on to get them in the race this year. unless they can pry aj burnett and/or tim hudson away (which i doubt because i feel that even with a healthy mulder they needed either one of those guys just to compete with the brewers) it's great news as far as i'm concerned.

the guy i feel sorry for is wellemeyer. i hope he can find his way back to the north side in his career.

It's terrible news for the Cubs because Mulder can do more damage to the Cardinals by pitching than he can by not pitching. He's horrible now.

ah. see i take a different belief- rather him not having the opportunity of throwing a perfect game or two down the line hurt than having the opportunity.

him being down brings up some scrubs from AAA as well as the possibility of a trade including prospects weakening them more.

of course if you typed that in sarcasm green, i can't tell because my browser setup is all white text on a black background.

For awhile I would yell and scream at him to get his ass out there and do his job.

Now I feel really soory for him he has been one of the best in the world at something for 25 years and now its gone.

its gotting be crushing mentaly.

The scrubs from AAA would be better. And I don't mean that in a wahhhhh the Cardinals call up scrubs and they turn into average major leaguers sense, I mean that in a Mark Mulder has an ERA of 9.85 since April '06 sense.
