Sure, burn out Marmol, bring the tying run up.

Great plan Lou!

Dude! Will you not be satisfied until our best reliever's arm falls off?!?

I am just as mad at Lou right now as I have ever been with Baker. Lou bats Zambrano, then takes him out. Lou uses an overused Marmol four straight games, the last two with huge leads. The pen has plenty of fresh arms. Lou, just because you are managing against Baker doesn't mean you don't have to manage like him. Man I am so mad at him.

Yeah, how dare he expect Marmol to throw 35 pitches in the last week! His arm is going to fall off throwing so many pitches!!!

Don't you want Marmol to be able to pitch tomorrow in case it's actually close? What's the benefit of having him pitch tonight?

With his control lately, no, not really. I'd rather see him work with big leads so if what happens tonight happens, it doesn't lose the game for us.

Lou either really, really likes Marmol, or really, really hates him.

But he has to warm up. That is more pitches. When a pitcher is throwing poorly because of overuse, you don't use him more. Plus, he has been in during huge leads. Just unacceptable.

I absolutely love agreeing with you!

I can't believe this

I'm very very confident in us retiring Phillip, but the fact that this game is even in reach is a complete joke.

It will because he'll have to pitch every game the rest of the year when Wuertz and Lieber wind up on milk cartons from trying to find their way to the mound.

Exactly. I'm not upset about this outing because of any overuse of Marmol.

What it does do though is take him out tomorrow for absolutely no good reason, and it also takes an inning away from pitchers who really could use it. That's the big problem with what just happened out there.

Hey! This just got interesting!!!

Game threads are great places to go for "sky is falling" commentary.

Shouldn't that be expected? Do not let this get to Dunn.

Grand Slam range.

Yeah, I better think about changing my sig. This is a couple games in the last week where grand slam range actually meant something.
