I'm a huge Packers fan. But I'm sure most of you are Bears fans. So my question to you is, if Favre decides he wants to come back, and the Packers release him. Would you want the Bears to sign him to be their QB?

No. This is the Jim Edmonds signing on crack.

Looking at it without my Favre hatred, my answer would probably be yes. What would we have to lose. Unless someone in the Bears org thinks Grossman or Orton have a solid chance at being a franchise QB, it would be a good one year pickup, although I have no idea who he throws to.

I've never really hated Favre, and the fact that the Bears more or less own him now anyway makes it easier. That being said, it's not like Favre would equal Super Bowl. I'd probably be fine with him on the Bears.

The biggest difference is, when we signed Edmonds. I thought it was a bad move for the team, because he would suck thus making our team worse. Favre is a million times better then Grossman or Orton, and would make the Bears better.

No problem at all. But at this point, I'd rather just see what Grossman/Orton can do rather than spend a year with Favre at QB, before he retires again, and still not get anywhere this season.

If the Bears believe they're a quarterback away from competing for the division title, they should do it.

No way. If they think they're a QB away from winning a SB, fine. But just "competeting for a division title"? That's not enough for me to want to take him on.

I'd only take him if he's the final piece of the puzzle.

This thread should be locked right now just for the irony. 7 yes votes, 7 no votes, and Favre wore #7. :D

maybe he wore 7 with the falcons?

I just goofed. Hnestly I don't pay as much attention to uniform numbers (especially on other teams) as many people do.

i said "no", but not based on my personal dislike of Favre. i'd just rather see what Grossman/Orton can do at this point. it's not like the Bears are a Brett Favre away from the Super Bowl. it would be kind of pointless, especially considering that Grossman is on a one year deal. they need to figure out what he can do this year.

They might be a vintage Favre year away from the Super Bowl, if the line is at least above average.

I can tell you that right now: absolutely nothing.
