Rich Hill in Mesa, Arizona: 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 6 K/1 BB.

:)

Wow, beautiful. Are these all simulated games?

I don't have a good feeling about today at all. I feel we'll get stomped 8-1 or something.

No, that was against actual Brewers rookie ballers.

yay!!!

keep it up OPR...we are all pulling for you baby!!!

It's sad that we're getting all worked up over an 11 game major league winner from last year not giving up any runs through four innings against rookie ballers

I think the excitement is over the fact that he only walked one in four innings.

I don't care about the runs, just the K/BB.

And just as a comparison, his last time out in Mesa, he went: 0.1 IP, 1 H, 3 ER, 0 K/3 BB.

imagine rich with his good stuff pitching to guys at that level? he was absolutely dominant against AAA hitters in 2006, and those are guys who have been playing professionally for several years. i'd think those rookie ball hitters would practically wet themselves after seeing his curve.

I remember when Woody was rehabbing once a few years ago (2005?) for Mesa and he struck out something like 5 guys in 2 IP, hit one and got a sac bunt. That's ridiculous.

And TBS goes black. Ugh, I totally forgot Cubs games were blacked out here on TBS. My hatred for MLB's blackout restrictions grows daily. Stupid.

I live near Fort Wayne. Am I supposed to drive to St. Louis to this game?

In baseball, it has nothing to do with attendance or proximity to the stadium. It's about protecting local media interests. Now for a person like me who lives in Bloomington, Indiana and doesn't have Comcast SportsNet, it flat out doesn't make any sense. And that's why MLB has decided to reconsider its blackout restrictions after this season.

I just don't understand the rules at all. Bloomington is over four hours away from St. Louis (and Chicago, for that matter -- well, barely over four for either, but still) and we don't get the Cubs or Cardinals local broadcasts here. The restrictions simply make no sense whatsoever. Worse, I usually remember them, but totally forgot that the earlier TBS game was blacked out. ESPN shows ESPNEWS, TBS simply goes to black dead air for three hours.

You don't understand the rules because they're antiquated. If I remember correctly, the blackout territories were designated more than 50 years ago, and nothing has been changed since. Bob Dupuy has said, though, that they will address the blackout territories after this season.

For what it's worth, my TBS is currently frozen on a hideous picture of Fat Albert, which I guess is my version of being blacked out, only with a very cruel twist.

I live in Oklahoma City, and the TV guide says it's showing the game, but I'm getting CNN News. Does that mean there's it's blacked out here as well? TVAnts for me today I guess.
