Your winning pitcher, Carlos Marmol

As I said earlier, that rule should be changed. Dempster should get the win.

What is the circumstance where the win is up to the scorer? When the starter goes less than 5, is behind, a new pitcher comes in, and the team goes on to win?

Man, Marmol has to get some rest and figure his stuff out.

But it's a win, and I'll take it!

Marmol's been getting tons of rest lately. He'll get even more if he keeps crapping the bed.

Woo!

Lot of negativity in this thread today.

To be fair, nobody could have predicted such a miraculous win.

Against such a formidable opponent.

honestly if he needs rest at his age from the workload hes had so far he won't have a long career in the MLB

6:05 game time central tomorrow...lets finish them off!

I was gonna complain about the early start during my commute from work but I often get KNBR all the way from the Bay. I do like the Giants radio guys.

Obviously recent rest isn't the issue here.

Bad time for hitters with sun and all.

How foolish am I for wanting to have woody start again?

Not foolish, just nostalgic. I'd love it too, but it'd end his career. I'm having fun watching him absolutely dominate and turn into a top 5 reliever in baseball.

Vance, thanks for the new sig. 8-)

You know what the best thing about this game, and every game for the past two or three weeks is? Geo's finally looking good. It's just recently starting to translate into hits, but he's been murdering the ball as of late.

Lee has also been putting up very good numbers over that time. Getting Aramis and Johnson back on top of that is gonna be big.

I'd rather have Soriano back than Johnson. Soriano, Edmonds, Fukudome.

Well, yeah, obviously, but unless you have some secret sorcery that's going to make that happen way ahead of schedule, I'm looking optimistically at what the Cubs are actually getting back this week.

It's at least four hours after the game (which I got to watch virtually all of at the office) and I'm still trying to figure out how Marmol gave up a home run to Ray Durham.

Oh well, at least the Cubs won. And Kerry was SICK in the ninth sans the one pitch that got hit for a triple.
