Gotta feel good for the green suit guy

He's totally nailing a drunk fat chick in a Paul Konerko jersey tonight.

Will he or the chick be wearing the Konerko jersey? Doesn't matter, either way's funny, just curious.

They'll use it as a towel to clean up afterward.

It's the only appropriate use for such a jersey.

Is it me or do closers seem to just toy with the Cubs offense when that 9th inning rolls around? It seems we always get something brewing, and kill the rally as quickly as it got started.

First year rooting for the Cubs?

I hate official scorekeepers..... how can they rule that DeRosa AB a double and then change it just because a run ended up scoring.

When it gets cool at the end of the year, this Sox team will have a very difficult time scoring runs. Good team, but like us in the past, way too dependent on the homer.

WTF they seriously changed that?

I want the Mega/Super Cubs back, not these imitators, the Cobs.

I'm with Lou on this, but I have grown tired of the interleague games. Just all of the "interesting" matchups have been play (outside of perhaps the Cubs going to Boston), so IMO, I think we can kill the interleague idea, now. I much rather take those 15 games against the AL, and use them to play the Cards/Brewers and perhaps the Astros an extra series a yr. That just me. I dont need to see the "AL" in the NL ballpark, and vice versa.

So on to San Francisco, and nobodys happier than Jim Edmonds.

Sorry, I have nothing against Jimmy, I just couldnt resist.

I don't think gay jokes are acceptable on the forum, just a warning.

Plus, I really cant see that pen dominating all the way through to the end.

no, it's just that the cubs are a really good team that never thinks they are out of it and they put pressure on the opposing pitcher to close it out.

they are just in a rut right now. the cubs will win this division...no question.

our ace and a massive bat are out right now. it'll all come together again. i just hope they are hot as the playoffs approach.

The good news out of all of this....Hopefully it lights a very large fire (it will have to be) under Hendry's rear.

Phew...saved by his .986 lifetime OPS in SF LLF :)

To be fair, it changed well before the run scored. It was only about a minute after it flashed up as a double that the announcers said it had been changed to an error after a look at the replay.

I agree with someone that I don't understand what DeRosa was doing there in the 9th. It's not even a situation where he feels he has to hurry to score. In that situation, his first move should be back towards second base no matter what is hit because it doesn't matter much if he advances 1 base or 2. His run doesn't matter unless the guys behind him also cross the plate, so all he has to do is make sure he isn't doubled off, and he didn't do that.

Oh well. A really tough series, but hopefully they can at least battle on the road the next 7, try to play around .500 ball, and wait to get their stars back.

Dammit why can't Lou address the media?

Would you, if you just saw your team "sleep walk" through a series with the White Sox. I much rather Lou have a "lively, man to man discussion" with his team, over him talking to the media.

With that said, I hope Lou is in Hendry ear about making a GOOD/GREAT trade asap.

If we can go 3-4 against SF and STL, I'll honestly be happy at this point. We just need to steady the ship and get our horses back (yes, a dusty reference ;))

They better get here early, lots of ditches need digging
