"Everybody's wondering why I didn't pinch-hit for Corey," Baker said. "Corey, in his career, has been better against left-handers than right-handers."

Corey Patterson, career:

Vs. RHP .260/.302/.423

Vs. LHP .240/.273/.375

Exhibit 1,324 to support my belief that Dusty does absolutely no homework or studying between games, everything he does is completely on the fly, by the gut, on the field.

All these fresh quotes and stupid moves by Baker seriously make me 100% sympathetic to the Reds. I should probably dislike the Reds since they're in the division and all, but it's hard to dislike them when their fans are suffering at the hands of the village idiot

Dusty probably remembers that one time Corey had a really nice hit against a lefty and that's all he remembers. I could read Dusty quotes all day and thank the baseball Gods he no longer has anything to do with the Cubs. I'm going to go hug Lou right now.

How long of a contract did he get? If it's only one year, I'm surprised there's no rumor of him being on the hot seat. If I'm Jocketty, I didn't hire him and I don't want him around my kids. He'd be gone already. There would have been four managers canned last week. He may be under instructions to allow him to last the year since they don't have any expectations of competing this year anyways. The Reds have enough pieces in place to be scary in another year or two, so I'd like to see Dusty keep hanging around there in the mean time.

Wasn't DFB signed to a 4 year contract? I'd be surprised if Jocketty hangs with him that long.

I looked it up. It was a three year deal. Jocketty must really be hating Krivsky right now.

I believe by "kids" he's referring to the Reds' young players like Bruce, Votto, Cueto, Volquez, and Bailey.

Yeah but that's what happened here. Next thing you know by the end of the contract Dustbag had wrecked Prior, wrecked Wood, wrecked Patterson, killed the morale of Ramirez, had Theriot swinging at everything (in the few atbats he was given), and would be sitting Soto and Fontenot right now while burning out Marmol's arm as well. For the sake of Cueto, Votto and the rest of the Reds prospects Gillick should get rid of Dusty sooner than later.

I guess the word "dude" should have tipped me off. Negative 10 points for me.

In tonight's game, Dusty called on Votto to sac bunt in the 8th inning. Votto ended up striking out.

Then Dusty pinch hit Javier Valentin for Jay Bruce. That didn't work out so well, either.

That's the second time this season (that I know of) where he has had Bruce bunt. Bruce never even had a bunt attempt in the minors for obvious reasons.

Hahahahahahahahaahahha

Dusty's teams always suck at fundamentals.

Dusty had all of 26 sacrifice hits in his entire career

Stat of the Day right there my friend.

Correction, make that Stat of the Week!

Last night: Reds vs LHP Pat Maholm

Dusty pregame: "This guy is tough on lefties (Paul Maholm) and Dunn has hit him pretty good and Griffey hasn't. Just trying to find a way to get some righthanders in the lineup and Griffey will be back in there tomorrow.

Dunn in the lineup last night: 3 for 25 lifetime, 10 k's

Griffey not in the lineup last night: 5 for 18 lifetime, HR

Tonight: Reds vs LHP Zach Duke

Dusty: "The guy Tuesday (Zach Duke) has been tough on Dunn," Baker added. "Like I said, I'll be mixing and matching to have the best lineup in there for that day."

Dunn 5 for 9 llifetime

Griffey 1 for 6 lifetime
