I swear all of the Cubs' big comebacks this season have happened while I'm at work.

Next time they're down, I'll call in and see if I can pick up a shift.

for Ss and Gs, I went over to White Sox Interactive and their post game thread is 11 pages and counting. Good times.

I'm just now getting around to doing that, and boy am I glad I did! :yahoo:

they really like the idea of using someone other than thome to sac the runner to third in the 9th. wow

i wonder if all white sox fans are idiots, or if there are intelligent ones who just happen to stay away from that site. we have some morons on here, but more often that not, people actually understand the game. the moaning about the lack of small ball and not pinch hitting for thome is priceless.

Also, anyone notice Alphabet Soup walking off the field seconds after the ball left the bat? He knew it was gone immediately.

He also called Ramirez: "the other guy" when he talked about Lee and Ramirez going back to back in the 7th. He mentioned Derrek by calling him DLee and when he got to Ramirez he chose not to say his name and decided to call him: "the other guy".

What's the matter, A.J., Can't handle when another plays flips the bat but's it's ok for you?

A.J.=Huge douche.

I kinda liked the guy who complained that they lost their biggest game of the year.

yes, that thread made me wonder about that. The average fan is an idiot, but posters here are significantly more intelligent than those at WSI (although I haven't noticed "alot" in their threads, so they might just be intelligent people who are baseball [expletive])

but hey, they want their pitchers to throw inside pitches to ramirez, so keep posting, WS fans!

What's Thome's lifetime batting average in clutch situations (games against Pittsburgh don't count). About .077?

lol

late and close (PA in the 7th or later with the batting team tied, ahead by one, or the tying run at least on deck.): .260/.397/.499

This is a strong possibility.

All that crystal meth eventually takes its toll. [-X

I will confidently say not all White Sox fans are idiots. Not that anyone's really taking things seriously at all.

Mine was said with tongue firmly planted in cheek.

But I do think there must be a maximum IQ at WSI. If you go over it, you are banned or just not allowed to post.

There's a maximum IQ alright. If you exceed it, you're a Cubs fan.

Instead of wallowing in the misery of White Sox message boards, I prefer to read Brewers and Cardinals message boards. Since it's not their team losing, they can look at the situation without the emotional goggles of a fan of either team. The posts they make are sometimes hilarious.

Just wondering, what are some of the big Cardinals boards you read? I know Brewerfan, but I'm yet to find a huge Cards board.

gatewayredbirds and birdsonthebat are pretty big i think

It's amazing how much more likable Cards fans are than Sox fans. And this is coming from someone who hates St. Louis, the Cardinals, and many of their pretentious fans.

yeah the best fans in baseball thing is irksome, but cards fans generally seem like good people and knowledgeable fans who enjoy a good rivalry. a lot of white sox fans seem to be bitter with an inferiority complex and a hawk-esque view of how the game should be played.

I think its worrisome that we're a HR hitting team thats getting our asses handed to us by the other team hitting HR in their sandbox field

It took me all of 12 seconds to find out that U.S. Cellular has a HR PF of 1.558 this season so far, highest in the majors. It's 1.153 at Wrigley and they're both subject to Chicago weather. In 2007, U.S. Cellular had a factor of 1.220 while Wrigley was at 1.150.
