Iowa State won the Big 12 10th place game over Tech 78-76. Nice to see the seniors step up on Senior Day, especially Petersen who had 20. Hopefully they can finally win a Big 12 tournament game, but I don't like any of the potential matchups, with the possible exception of K-State.

yeah that was actually a pretty good game. We didnt play very well but finally managed to overcome a choke job to get a win.

Nice game out of Tate playing on one leg.

Had to expect Penn State was going to have a letdown after the big win against Illinois. I guess we don't have to worry about them being a number 2 seed now.

I really wonder what Iowa's record would look like if they could have just pulled out some of there non-OT close games and if they were healthy for most of the year.

Calm down, Penn State is still basically at a win and their in. If they win their first game of the tourney, they are in. I know its not ideal but you're still in great shape IMO

I think the team that is now on the outside looking in is Minnesota. I think the BIg Ten Heirarchy at the bottom is now:

6. Penn State

7. Michigan

-----------------

8. Minnesota

9. Northwestern

Still haven't decided whether Illinois having a bye on the last weekend of the season is a good or bad thing.

it was pretty ridiculous that this game was scheduled for a saturday afternoon after a late thursday night game. oh well, the big ten wants to get their teams into the ncaa tourney but they're not doing themselves any favors with the scheduling.

on the bright side, i'll get a chance to go to more penn st games this year, and their chances of winning a postseason tournament just went way up.

all their games are close. that's a fallacy about iowa, what their record would be if they won most of their close games. they're going to have a lot of close games because they play a slow, boring style; they were a little worse than most of their opponents so they lost a lot of those games.

jake kelly is the luckiest basketball player i've ever seen.

Jake Kelly's last 7 games since moving to PG:

20.4 PPG, 6 boards, 4.2 assists, 49% from the field, 50% from the field, 46% from 3. And all of them were banked in. He's been a stud. He's had the flu, a 102 temp this morning and Lick had to call a timeout 3 minutes into the game so he could run in the tunnel and yack.

Seriously though I don't want PSU to whine about luck after some of the junk that went in when we had a 13 point lead with less than 6 minutes left earlier this year. Well I would be bitching too if Battle banked in two 3's, but that's the first time in history we've been on that side of those shots.

It was absolutely awesome to get that win after watching Cornley jump around and scream like a damn clown all game, especially during the comeback. Hey Jamelle, if you're such a tough guy why did you get 1 rebound in 46 freaking minutes?

Oh and Truffle about the pace deal. We're always going to be in close games because we play a slow, boring pace? Yes, nothing like the racehorses from PSU. At less than 3 possessions more per game there's an extreme difference.
