we aren't going to the tournament, guys. we'll lose out.

you know thats not true.

Lol. Look at our schedule again. Which one would you give us even money on winning?

the home game against minnesota.

That's pry the best shot. They detroyed us last time. They play in your face defense that will rattle us again as our guards are awful. I really think we lose out.

well if you're thinking that illinois loses to minnesota because they got destroyed the last time they played, shouldn't they also beat ohio st since they whooped their ass earlier this season?

I'd be shocked. I don't think any team besides IU and Wisconsin has lost 6 straight this year

Deron, Luther, and Dee lost to them up there. Color me less than optimistic these clowns can win.

Wow, that was something. It was a slow game but not THAT slow.

33 points in 57 possessions? If you just came down and took the first open look between the 3 point line and half court 57 times, you probably have a decent shot of hitting 12 of them and getting 36.

We got the lead to 9 and then we do what Weber's teams always do. We let the air out. Awful. Some of his bad losses are really bad.

I know the experts are going to use games like this Penn State/Illinois game as an example of why the Big Ten won't do anything in the tournament. But you know the Big Ten's defensive schemes are going to throw off and annoy other conference teams. The Big Ten teams should also score some points against other teams.

That being said, I was shocked when I saw this final score.

Except Penn State and Illinois both lose in the first round this year. (assuming they make it)

We thumped number ten on a neutral court. Maybe the Big Ten plays better defense.

in other words, you ran the michigan offense?

I didn't get to see the game but my God 38-33. Only one player in double figures and that was 11 points on 3 of 11 shooting.

As a Purdue fan I'm ecstatic. This puts the ball in our court. If we win out we are the champs.

I don't know what to make of this UI team. I thought they were pretty decent, but that's two games where they put up less than 40. I heard McCamey was sick tonight, which I'm sure didnt help.

with games against IU and Iowa, the chance of PSU winning 10 conference games just went way up

Considering the way Iowa played at Penn State that game is not a gimme at all. Penn State was very lucky to win that one. I personally think that will be Iowa's only win the rest of the season.

While Penn State and Illinois are struggling to score 40, Wake Forest put up 50 in the first half against Georgia Tech.

You know, I admit this game was one of the ugliest I've ever seen, but this [expletive] annoys me. Why isn't it while Georgia Tech allows 50 in the first half against Wake, meanwhile, neither team in PSU/IL has allowed that much over a full game. This isn't so much directed at you, but at buffoons like Vitale who talk down the Big 10 because they don't score 100 points against each other.

:-k

Both teams allowed considerably more than 50 in their games against ACC opponents (85 and 76 respectively... ps - it was the ACC worst GT that scored 85)

I'm not saying that they are bad teams necessarily, and I will be the first to say that Dickie V is worthless, but to insinuate in some fashion that the Big 10 and the ACC (at least offensively) are equals is a far stretch.

Haha, how bout you tell me how many those teams scored in those games. Probably in the 30s right?

Edit: I was talking about in today's game in the same way soccer was only the other way around.

nope, much higher.

but your it still shoots holes in your "Big 10 schools are great because of their defense" logic when the worst team in the ACC posts 85 in early season play.

Do you really want to go down the road of comparing ACC vs. Big 10 schools? I'm fairly positive the last decade has provided me with significant ammunition.

Once again, I'm not saying they are bad teams. I'm sure they are very good teams with good defense that had an off night, but please, don't pull a random ACC game to use as the backbone of your argument.

ETA: OK, I see your edit. Disregard this post. I hate Dick Vitale too, can we agree on that?

UCD clinched a spot in the Big West tournament today. Yeah, it's not a great accomplishment since eight of the nine teams make it, but they didn't do it last year so it's something.

i must have missed the part where someone said the BigTen was better than the acc

Did you also miss the part where both parties edited their posts to clear up any confusion?
