I was being a smartarse. A winning record doesn't mean much in the NCAA.

And Iowa might have one or two more wins with Tate in. I don't think Tucker would have meant much. He is a pure shooter and doesn't do anything else well.

(I'm so I'm able to keep the discussion on a 12-11 team going :D )

I mean Tate is there best player, but even when he was health they were picked to finish like 6th in the conference.

Tate healthy though....you beat IU ha

I don't know. They were up 20 at one point. We are bad right now.

Well you guys had a real bad game....I mean you just came off a decent game against U of I where you stuck with them in at least the first half and beginning of the second

Wow Duke got spanked

Yes they did. And it was glorious. It's great when even good ole Rat Face's whining can't make a difference for them.

i'm mad at myself for not watching this. i guess i was still in mourning over IU blowing their perfect BT season.

Yeah Iowa is bad

Hey, we have a winning record.

You were the only team and are the only team that will lose to Indiana in the Big Ten this year

They're missing some of their best players Tate and Tucker, how has Purdue faired without Hummel?

Wait wait wait you actually are going to put them on the same level because they have injuries? come on Iowa is worse because Tate and Tucker are out, but they weren't much better compared to the other teams in the Big Ten anyways even with those guys

I don't think it would be impossible to argue that without Hummel we would be 4-5 or 5-4 in conference and if Iowa had those two guys they could be 4-5 or 5-4 too. At any rate, if Hummel's back isn't better by tournament time our season is going to be about as meaningful as theirs anyway.

Eff off, Daniel Hackett. What a little bitch.

No wonder OJ Mayo punched you.

i think he's the guy that punched blake griffin in the weiner this year

That would be Leonard Washington.

Yeah. Different douche, same classy basketball team.

Indiana has lost Big Ten games this year by 2, 4, 5, 6(ot), 10 and 12 points. They led by at least nine points in, I believe, four of those games and by double digits in three of them. Pomeroy also has them finishing 2-16 in the league. IU has been very competitive in seven of its nine conference games; it is by no means a certainty they fail to win another game.

Exactly. I wouldn't say it's likely (I only give them a 30-35 percent chance to actually close out another game, although I think they will have 3-4 more close games along the way) but it's not like Iowa proved themselves substantially inferior to other Big 10 teams with last night's game. It was essentially a carbon copy of the Michigan game..but this time Dumes made the right decision with a minute left to seal the game instead of allowing the other team to force OT. If Dumes had hit that 3 against Minnesota, they may have been the one to go down instead.

I doubt that IU can keep 4 out of their next 5 games within double digits, but they'll still have some chances near the end of the season to win a game, and they'll likely play the 6 seed close in the BTT before falling late (maybe play the 7 seed if everything fell absolutely right for IU).

Do I think IU wins another game? Probably not. (Just so everyone is clear.) And, as you said, they have a rough stretch coming up; they are going to take some beatings. There are also a couple/few games they figure to be competitive in and have a chance to win.

Penn State @ Michigan tonight. winnable game, but I refuse to get overconfident about any game in this league

Michigan will lose. Again.

Rather than predict whether or not Michigan will win, its more enjoyable to predict their 3 point shooting percentage for the game.

I'll go with 8-34

Matt Gatens is by far their best player.

with a healthy Tate we have 2 more conference wins at least, more likely 3.

Still do you guys honestly think it change your season and make you better than Northwestern, Michigan, or Wisconsin?

Hard to say. We would be 15-8 (5-5) with wins over Wisconsin, Minnesota, @Penn State etc.... Its not really a stretch to say that would be better. We may be better than Michigan right now even without Tate.

Possibly, but then Michigan has wins over Duke, UCLA, and U of I

penn state let cammeron woodyard get off the bench and he responded by firing up an airball on a wide open three, and then bricking a 5-foot runner. back to the bench, pal.

#24 an #54 are pretty useless

Might be time for someone on Penn State to bite the bullet and flop like a gunshot victim to get Harris chucked out of this game.

I think for sure we beat Minnesota, I'm not sure who else we would have beat though. Maybe Penn State as he would have been better against Cornley than any of our players but Fuller had a good game that he might not of had with Tate in there. IU dominated us so much last night that I don't know if Tate would have meant much there.

Plus Iowa doesn't really utilize their post players to begin with (they've gotten better but still struggle) I don't know if he is enough to make up the difference between a win or a loss. I only said that he made the difference against Minnesota because the team kind of fell apart without him after they shot pretty well to start the time period when they didn't have him in.

There aren't really any good shots of it on youtube, but the clip I'm watching reminds me of the boxing match in Snake Eyes.(at least the way it looked in the trailer, never saw the movie) I seriously do not see any contact.

Tough loss for Penn St. Their nonconference resume is probably the worst of the Big 10 tourney contenders, so they're going to need a better record than the others. It's not like they're sunk, they're 6-4 and have 4 home games left. Win those plus tourney game and they probably squeak in. Win those and at Iowa and they should be in no matter what. No 11-7 Big Ten team is getting left out this year.

I don't think this is a season killer. splitting with Michigan is pretty decent.
