So, when was the last time the Cubs were better than 43-24 after 67 games? They just matched 1969. I know they were 47-20 after 67 in 1906 (they proceeded to finish the year a ridiculous 69-16...so these Cubs are NOT going to catch them.), and 46-19 in 1918. Anything since then?

This is definitely one of the best games of the year and won't be forgotten soon. The whole WGN 1948 gimmick (which was kinda cool), the strange decisions by Lou, Edmonds HR, and a walk off HBP by the hit by pitch master, Reed Johnson.

 

Definitely one of the most memorable games.

I want to fight someone every time I hear this stupid "Go Cubs Go" song.

 

Bobby sucks. Our team sucks. Trade everyone. We're done. Seriously, we aren't good and our bad manager is making matters worse.

 

Well, you've got to hand it to them; that is an incredibly creative way to end a game. What will be next? A walk-off balk

 

ol..seriously at this point u just have to laugh.. its so ridiculous at this point its not even funny...let me think here... how can we lose another 1 run game on the road...i guess we could always have someone go rick ankiel in a tie game..walk a batter with 2 outs, steals 2nd, wild pitch to 3rd and wild pitch to win it on a passed ball...i think thats the only way we havent lost a game yet this year...

if it can happen...its gonna happen to this team.. its as if we were destined to be a sub .500 team this year..

That is one of the best ways ever to win a game, especially because past Cubs teams would have LOST this type of game on a HBP.

I'm in love with this team.

I agree. Zambrano wasn't his best, but he still kept us in the game, and our bullpen was amazing. Great win by the Cubs.

 

I think that if Lilly could settle down and be consistant and we get another decent starter, this team is unstoppable.

 

Also loved the amazing game thread, with the attempted 40s lingo, bitching about Lou, and debate about RISP/2 outs. Excellent. been loving NSBB ever since I joined.
