let's see if the west puts up a better fight this week.

not feeling too good about two starts for randy johnson against the pirates and the royals. or the fact that my opponent is coming off a terrible week. or the fact that he gets wells and holliday back. or the fact that shields serves his suspension after his start this week. in conclusion, not feeling too great about this week.

Game of the Week: Eyes Of Texas vs. NC Cubs

NC Cubs and Tootielicious need wins to keep Raw Dawgs from running up a commanding lead in the East. Realistically, any team in the West still has a shot to make the playoffs.

I see where you are coming from, Adam. Your pitchers don't exactly have easy assignments this week. I don't have the best of match ups either, but I think I like mine better than the opponents your pitchers are facing.

time for nccubs to lose a few f'in games. two games ahead of me in the standings, yet they've outscored me by like six points on the season.

I think this is gonna be a tough week for me. Have some starts to choose from, which always worries me. Don't want to pick the wrong ones. Four starts are vs. either the Red Sox or Marlins, (#5 and 6 in ML runs scored this year) with Hamels getting both and Volquez getting Boston.

Do I start both Myers and Hamels (basically do I start Myers?) and hope they shutdown the Marlins in back-to-back games? Do I start Wainwright who left his last game w/ an injury? I'll probably start Lilly vs. Atlanta w/ no Chipper, but what will he give me in his former home in Toronto? Does Francis have a good game in him vs. CWS?

The last few years was time for me to lose a few games (OK, time for me to lose MANY games). This year, just like the Cubs, it's time for me to win.

Wow, do I ever have a banged up team right now. Rickie Weeks just went on the DL.

Weeks on the DL? Shocking?!?! Who's next? Ben Sheets?!?!

Just giving you a hard time since you're winning.

I'm giving Alexei Ramirez a try at 2b. He's been hot lately and it could be that he's adjusted to major league pitching. The regular playing time certainly helped.

So far we're even, practically speaking. Your pitching start last night accounts for 12.5 points of your 12.75 point advantage.

I just hope Drew, Derosa, and Vlad remain hot. That could go a long way toward determining the outcome.

My team pretty much goes with DLee and Utley, and Lee is starting to piss me off.

I just thought I'd point out that I haven't had a single player go on the DL yet this year.

*Ducks*

and you're in second place despite barely having the fourth most points in the division. like ryan theriot's BA, you're due for a collapse.

You're just jealous because I whipped you by over 70 points earlier this season (the week after I beat Raw by over 100). I've EARNED my standing by beating up on the usual powers in the East. :P

good to see the fuzzy logistics bounce back from their week of complete [expletive] to put up your run of the mill .400, 4 hr, 12 rbi, 11 run day...and throw in a 6 er CG from shields for funsies.

also excited to see nsbb continue their post-putting-up-330-against-me freefall.

I'm down by 3.5 but with a 6 to 4 pitching start advantage. Drew is still on fire, and since missing a couple of games with an injury Vlad seems to have remembered that he's Vlad. The eyes of Texas will be crying eyes this week. :D
