sometimes i wonder if jon miller brings up walks and offensive patience just to f*** with joe morgan

lay off Morgan. He gives us important insight, like a pitcher batting .200 is the equivilant of a position player batting .300.

Anybody else terrified of Marquis pitching with a lead now?

i'm expecting fangraphs to realize that marquis is still in the game for the cubs and decrease the cubs' chance of winning to 50%.

A couple of things:

1) There is probably not more than 3 or 4 (if that) slugging left handed hitting centerfielders in the entire world. None of them are available. Just taking a guess on that.

2) I thought Soto hit that last ball harder than what the results showed.

Positive: Cubs are winning

Negative: This start has bought Jason Marquis more time in the rotation.

If he continues pitching like this I will be more than happy to keep him in the rotation.

Yeah on both accounts.

That must mean that Z is a better hitter than Chipper.

When it comes to water jugs and horrible catchers he is.

I think Soto is starting to turn it around. He's not getting the solid contact and line drives yet, but in the past week I've noticed that he's gone back to being more patient. That last AB was pretty good.

Neifi Perez had a handful of good games too.

Thanks for letting us know Joe, I had no idea that scoring a lot of runs helps you lead the league in runs.

You know the team that wins the most games usually makes the playoffs too.
