it's a tough question, because they approach the position in different ways. With Harry and Stone, Harry was very much a "color play-by-play" guy while Stone played it straight, whereas Kasper is much more than just a straight play-by-play guy; he adds a lot of color and analysis himself. I never got the hate for Stone, but Brenly has grown on me.

Better from a pure analytical standpoint, or better as a TV guy? I prefer Brenley from a TV standpoint (I love his style of humor); Stoney had a sense if humor too, of course, but it was more biting sarcasm (which can be enjoyable, don't get me wrong, but it can get kinda tiresome too). But, from a purely analytical standpoint, I still prefer Stoney.

I think people remember the way it ended and forget everything else regarding Steve Stone. Brenly is slowly getting better to where he hardly bothers me, which is all I ask from an announcer.

I remember the way it ended, but it as so clearly a case of asshats like Alou and Mercker being worried about what was being said in the booth and Dusty letting the lunatics run the asylum.

i remember everything about stone, i hated thim then and i hate him now. he masquerades as an expert, and while he does provide some insight, he behaves as if no one else in the business has ever fathomed when and where to throw a slider.

This is just about exactly how I feel.

I like Brenly a lot. But he uses his experience to much in a bad way. He talks about the DBacks and how he caught great pitchers. More specific examples. Stone knew more about the entire game from scouting, to mechanics, to the business end of the game. It wasn't until Stoney got cocky with it and thought he was good enough to coach, GM, and own a team at the same time that he got annoying.

I can forgive Brenly for thinking that he should talk about pizzas as "pies" here, but Stone has been too much of a shmuck to keep his position.
