I was hoping this would be a day game because it's a Thursday. Does LA usually stick with night games even on "hooky" day?

Staying up until midnight is getting tiresome for me.

I hear ya. Every game, I tell myself I'll just watch a few innings, just to see how its turning out, and every game, I end up staying with it until the final pitch, and every day, I have to be up at 6am. I'll try to excersize self control tonight and stay away.

Outside of opening day, I'm pretty sure the Dodgers don't ever do weekday home afternoon games.

They played a day game yesterday (v. the Rockies), IIRC.

I would imagine they'd do quite a few day games on getaway day. Flying east from the west coast after a night game would be brutal.

LA plays a day game later this month against CWS on a weekday, and another in August against Colorado. The teams that don't get the benefit of an afternoon getaway game have an off day the next day (Atlanta, Washington, SF) or stay local the next night (Philly goes to SD). SD actually looks to be the only team to get screwed, playing a night game on getaway day then travelling to Mil for a night game the next night, in early September.

Cubs fans probably will be the majority in the crowd today. I can't be the only Cubs fan who bought tickets off Dodger fans who'd rather watch the Lakers tonight.

The West Coast sucks. We shouldn't have to wait this late in the day to watch the Cubs.

I just found out my DTV receiver and my cable modem got toasted by last night's lightning storm. GREAT! I won't be able to watch this game anyway.

You're all in luck -- Cubs always play better when I don't watch. It's scientifically proven.

That's why everything I own is plugged into one, including the two things that got toasted.

Reed Johnson is terrible against right-handers, and Billingsly is a very good right-hander. 8 at-bats is not usually enough to bench a player, especially when your other option is pretty terrible.

You should probably use more than 1.

It's Pat & Ron for me tonight, with no CSN+. I'll finally get to watch a full game tomorrow night, since it's the weekend and my last day of school is Tuesday.

I thought I read somewhere that Kemp was suspended for 4 games, and the thought was he wasn't going to appeal. Has there been a change?
