I don't know if anyone noticed, but apparently Pujols left the game tonight after being HBP. This is a second hand story from my (Cardinals fan) roommate, so I don't know where he was hit or if it was precautionary.

HBP, rainy crappy day..........my guess without knowing anything would be it's precautionary.

ST. LOUIS FIRST BASEMAN ALBERT PUJOLS HAS LEFT THE GAME IN THE TOP OF THE FOURTH INNING WITH TIGHTNESS IN HIS LEFT CALF.

It certainly doesn't matter at all. But when you're not looking for those type of things, or picking up on small details, to me at least, it is like a 5 year old who watches but has no idea why or how.

but who knows more more? the child, empty of impressions, or the 50 year old, full of the wrong ones?

Raise beer prices at Wrigley by a quarter if you have to, but it's time to eat Marquis' contract and end this bad experiment.

No need. Sunk cost.

He was pulled as a precaution since the field was absolutely terrible tonight due to rain. Didn't look like anything serious when it happened.

How does Marquis manage to not have a ridiculously awful ERA, he must be the luckiest pitcher in baseball.

His ERA is over 5. That's ridiculously awful.

Ted Lilly is crying in the bullpen.

Leadoff double.

I love Reed Johnson vs. lefties.

If Edmonds keeps hitting liek he has been, I'm really going to like this CF platoon

I am not stating there are trends I see that are untrue (like a players ability with RISP) nor saying something like Lee always tends to strike out with the runners in motion. I am not drawing on these observances here. I am simply stating there are multiple ways major leaguers approach a given at bat.

Sweet, now lets just get Hoff in when Marquis spot comes up.

oh yeah.

Maybe we could start Hoff on Sunday. Couldn't be worse than Marquis.

Soto will pitch to himself. The only question will be perfect game or merciful no hitter

Someone e-mail this to Hendry.

I think Lou might seriously be considering removing Marquis from the rotation.

I'm hoping Lou has bigger plans then just removing Marquis from the rotation. I'm hoping he convinces Hendry to DFA Marquis.
