I buy MLB.tv just now for $89.95. The first play I see is Z picking off Gerut. I think I'm the lucky charm. I am so happy I bought this living in SC, I get to see only the nationally televised games.

I saw your name "carolinacubbie" and just assumed you were in the good carolina. Guess I was wrong

Speaking of that, why is it East carolina and not EastERN Carolina like all the other state universities? Just think that's a little weird.

I thought this shirt was cool:http://www.palmercash.com/images/products/northcarolina-350.jpg

I'm not sure, but I do know that it pisses all of us off when people refer to us as EastERN Carolina. I've never heard an actual explanation though

Yeah, I live near Cary (Apex), NC, and I have a cousin who recently graduated at ECU. He always gets mad when I say "Eastern" Carolina University.

I think it would be funny if we were related.

My brother went to ECU and I live in Cary and used to live in Apex

Well, my cousin that went to ECU, has a sister, and she's not a Cubs fan, as far as I can tell :)

By the way, sorry everybody for the North Carolina small talk in the game thread.

And if the umps don't screw us, we're tied.

Hopefully by the end of the game it will be "if the umps didn't screw us we would have won my 6 instead of 5"

If Lee wasn't tagged, he would have been thrown out going to second after getting back up

Since it wouldn't have been a force out though, the run would have scored. (Bases were loaded right?)

But it would have been a force out, wouldn't it?

Not after the runner was forced at 1st. Becomes a tag play and the run counts as long as it's across the plate before the 3rd otu.

Freakin' Edmonds trying to make us like him.

It wouldn't have been a force out thus meaning the run would have counted. Not 100% sure that is correct, but pretty positive, someone help me on this?

Yes, as long as the run crossed home plate before the tag was applied, the run counts.

My bad, I didn't consider that scenario.
