He's wild, but he's not super-hittable at this point, HR notwithstanding.

Yeah, but when he does get hit it will hurt cause he will have guys on through his walks.

 

Agreed. This has the potential to be a really ugly outing. But it's salvageable too.

Dempster *just* missed. That's a 50/50 call.

 

 

Gamecast showed that as nearly down the middle.

 

Then gamecast is wrong. It was right, right, right off the corner. The edge of the ball might have clipped it, and you see just off the corner called a lot.

That's why he's a career minor leaguer. No way to watch that. Anyways, good to get out of the inning. Anyone have a pitch count?

68 pitches thru 3 for Dempster. 4 walks and a HBP. He really needs to turn it up and get thru 6. Cubs need to keep scoring to give Dempster some more wiggle room.

Yeah, he needs to start finding the zone so he can save the pen at least a bit.

The pen isn't too bad. Lieber really was great yesterday.
