Off topic.....What happened to Juan Mateo??

Likely to retire. He flopped horribly in Iowa and Tennessee in rehab stints. He refused to be bumped down to Daytona.

He had like two good starts in a row once, didn't he? That's about all I remember from Juan.

There are at least 300 reasons why this is wrong.

Marmol --> Woody --> Cubs win.

Marmol kept up his half of the bargain.

Was Marmol always had this awesome psycho routine of looking at the ground and then whipping his head over at the batter? I swear he's talking to the ball.

I remember Mike Fetters doing some crazy head snapping thing because of his asthma

Grace mocked it one time when the D-Backs were getting blown out and he was on the mound. It was funny.

DIdn't he give up the first home run to Russell Martin that night?

every closer does it. heck, even set-up guys do it. farnsworth always did that.

Oh, I wasn't slamming him. I love crazy players. People hate on Valverde, but I love his insanity. I just had never really notied Marmol holding the ball up like that and looking down/at the dugout and then whipping his head around at the batter. It's badass. Even moreso if he is talking to the ball and/or himself.

I hope he is talking to the ball. I love crazy relievers.

I know he gave up someone's first career homer, but I don't know who it was.

best reliever in baseball.

i don't know, bobby jenks is real real good. and he's got way more saves than marmol. plus he won a world series.

come back and tell me that when marmol has a few years of closing out games under his belt, then they can be comparable. saves are way more important than whatever it is that marmol does.

there, is that a good sox fan impression or what?

You should also add, "has Marmol ever set his own arm on fire? No. Case closed."

i wasn't saying that you were slamming him, just that the whole whip the head around-thing is common. what marmol does is cooler, though.
