That was the perfect pitch to Taveras. He jammed Taveras and got him to hit a lazy liner to Lee. Lee just barely missed it and would have gotten the easy double play.

exactly. what the hell is everyone complaining about..it was a plain lucky hit. in on his hands. marquis is the chump here.

Looked like it, Lee was basically parallel to the bag when he made a stab at it.

Between Ramirez's ball and the Tavares single this has been the worst luck inning ever.

The thing that pisses me off is that even though Marquis has been garbage, his numbers end up looking just barely decent enough (in Hendry's mind) for him to keep starting.

They make it appear that Neal Cotts is pitching for the cubs.
