Honestly, I'm not saying that this will happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Reds, despite Dusty Baker, become our greatest threat in the division this year.

it's certainly possible, especially if cueto can keep the ball in the park (his numbers are otherwise very solid), volquez keeps pitching well, harang is harang and arroyo is a solid #3 or #4. plus if bruce has a seamless transition to the majors, dusty will be more inclined to play him (though bruce's plate discipline could result in some problems once major league pitchers adjust). On paper they're probably just as good as the brewers without gallardo and a respectable closer.

I've been thinking that all season. They have a crap load of talent. I don't know how thoroughly Dusty can hold them down.

Jay Bruce- 3-3, 2 BB, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI, SB

This is why Pie struggling like mad is more frustrating. I know Geo turned out well, but when will our "can't miss" position prospects pan out.

They certainly have the pieces there. They have a good pitching staff with Harang, Cueto, and Volquez, and they can slug with the best of them. They just need a few pieces here and there and a manager that isn't a moron and they could be very good.

Volquez has pitched waaaaaay too much and will be down with an injury by July

There is no such thing as a "can't miss" prospect.

Bruce was the number 1 prospect in baseball. Pie was somewhere in the 40's

And one game doesn't prove anything.

It'll take me another day to get over the fact that Edmonds hit in front of Soto. Two lefties in a row, no less. Too damn funny.

That one is very funny. I usually like to let that site sit for a few months, let the stuff recycle for a bit, then re-visit. It's a good time with the Dodgers in town.

It's probably no secret that's how I would post when the Cubs lose if there were no language rules on NSBB. I laugh because I see myself in some of those posts.

Gallagher pitched pretty well, although the defense bailed him out on a few occasions.

Lasorda didn't say "root root for the Dodgers"? I'm impressed.

To me it sounded like he said "Root root root for the Country", hence the "Armed Forces" reference in the beginning.

No, he said "root root root for the dodgers"

I figure this would be the best thread to post this in. Did anyone else watch BBTN after the game? If you didn't, they had some stupid demonstration where Showalter showed Ravech and Young how a triple play happened without actually touching a glove. Ravech and EY were both wearing batting helmets during the demonstration. And on the batting helmets were logos of ESPN's two favorite teams. EY was wearing a Yankees helmet and Ravech was wearing a Red Sox helmet. I got a good laugh out of that.

Back on topic, great win. Wood looked great yet again in the 9th. Let's sweep these bastages tomorrow.

By the way, in case you don't know.......*defnitely* not safe for work.

More f-bombs than Kosuke taking BP with the wind blowing out.

Haha, yeah. If there was a way to measure per capita F-bombs on the internet, DodgerBlues would surely rank very, very high.
