If Pie goes down, either Fuld or a pitcher will come up, I think.

How is Fuld doing at Iowa?

A sterling .192/.288/.269 in 52 ABs

I had no idea he was doing that bad. I expected at least a .260/.320/.390ish line from him.

The idea of calling up Hoffpauir and sending down Pie sounds so much better to me now that Jim Edmonds' name has come up. I'd be all for this move if it meant no Edmonds.

yet another Dallas Green thread that is completely untrue.

Are you that ignorant? What are you talking about?

1. Marshall to the rotation: Marshall is currently being stretched out to start and he still would take either Marquis spot or Lieber's spot. I stated it (Marquis spot) was fluid depending on Lieber's performance

2. The Hoffpair thing changes when Edmonds becomes avail, and Pie will go down.

Things change on a daily basis in that biz, try to keep up. Go ahead and ask Bruce if Hoffpauir would have been the one to come up.

Torres? Please God no

No it won't be Torres. Sullivan pulled that out of his ***.

as opposed to bringing Hoffpauir out of your booty

Have alot of contacts down in North Carolina do you?

I hate it when people supposedly "in the know" post anonymously on message boards, and proceed to become angry when their privileged knowledge is put into question. Why would you expect people to just accept that what you say is true? This is the internet!

Hell yea, I saw Hendry walking out of a McDonald's a few years ago.

Seriously, Hoffpauir would not have come up

I'm not angry. It's just obvious they didn't need to call Hoffpair up when Edmonds fell into their laps. They stopped pursuing Byrd when Reed Johsnon fell into their laps too. I'm not trying to be mysterious either. I happen to be friendly with "people" and feel the stuff I put on this board is harmless, just like a reporter would. I'm suprised more people wouldn't be appreciative of the angles.

As a matter of fact De Lucca mentioned today that Hoffpauir would have come up not for Edmonds. This didn't come out of thin air.

But you're not a reporter. I could do the same thing you're doing.

The Cubs sent Pie to Triple-A Iowa after the game to make room for Edmonds, as well as for Pie to get his act together in the minors.

There may be another move in the offing as well. Outfielder Daryle Ward came up with a bad back Wednesday, and although Piniella said Ward wouldn't be placed on the disabled list "right now," he figures to go on it by the weekend.

The Cubs will bring up left-handed hitter Micah Hoffpauir to replace Ward. The 28-year-old first baseman currently is playing in right field at Iowa in preparation for a call-up.

You don't say...... :-k

The 40-man sits at 39 even with the Edmonds signing. They'd only have to clear a 25-man spot, accomplished by putting Ward on the DL. The only number question, really, is what uni # he'd wear; I count 6, 13 and 29 as suitable numbers available.

I thought it was at 40 after Edmonds signing? I thought Chad Fox made it 39 and Lassie 40.
