This is a pretty average lineup without A-Ram and Soriano still in a semi-funk.

to be fair, most lineups become average when you remove arguably their best hitter and turn their third or fourth-best hitter into a lesser version of neifi perez.

So this is going to be exactly the same as the Brewers series right? We lose 2 close games and blow out the middle game?

I hate the Cubs.

We only scored 2 runs off of Todd Wellemeyer. Let's all think about that for a while.

But he got worked pretty well. In previous Cubs seasons than this would have been much more frustrating. The team is just not coming through with scoring opportunities

So like previous Cub teams

I was just responding to the guy saying we didn't do anything against Wellemeyer

should have quoted him

Now that Lee is hitting homers again, Aramis cannot possibly be considered our best hitter - though your point stands.

This team's problem isn't scoring. Even though we'll have off nights with the bats the main problem is pitching

Not really. The comments are that the throw beat him so that = out in Umps mind. The replay is clear that his foot in on the base. But it is done so the issue really is, why not take it out on the ump and not on the player who plays for the team that you want to win

Because everyone else who has looked at the reply disagrees with you. Why do you keep going on about this? It's kinda creepy.

Creepy? More like a slower typer then others here.

Terrible terrible call

Not even close to the strike zone

K Zone disagrees.

How accurate is K Zone? The box they put up always seems so small

More accurate than partisan fans watching from a skewed camera angle, let's put it that way.

It uses the same Pitch F/X technology used for pitch by pitch data, but I'm still suspicious as to how well ESPN actually uses it.

LOOGY time!

Aramis is taking walks now, though... which used to be the exclusive domain of Lee.

I have not watched any of the game. (I hate Jon Miller and Joe Morgan). So I don't know if he was safe or not. But to me running on Molina is not the smartest idea.

What cracks me up is that all this blow up for Theriot being called out but in reality he was safe. If the call was right, would the blow up be on Theriot? Nope. Let's redirect our anger here folks and not use it as an excuse to continue the tirade on Theriot.

The throw beat him by a mile. He's not fast and he really hasn't shown that he's a good base-stealer.

Great he was safe though so how are you answering my post again?

He wasn't safe. He was out. I'm not just saying that because the ball beat him. He was tagged about a foot short of the base. He's been killing innings all year with his gritty baserunning.

Todd Wellemeyer now pitches for the Cardinals. Previously terrible players magically become useful when they go there. It's been happening that way for about 10 years. You could make a lis of about 20 guys over the past few years who absolutely stunk, went to St Louis, played well, moved on to another team, then stunk again. It's almost uncanny. Wellemeyer is just the latest in the conga line, pitchers and position players alike.

no the cubs' problem over the past, say, 60 years has not been a lack of clutchiness. it's been a lack of GetOnBaseiness.

Never compare Alfonso Soriano to Neifi Perez. Neifi did great things for this team.
